My excitement has blinded me to the absence of a solo Superman or Batman film (unless you count Lego Batman, which I do not).

I'm still not coming to terms with us getting a WW before JL. And I don't mean that in a bad way.

Let's take stock of the regular complaints against WB/DC that have been wiped away by this announcement

WB/DC have no plan
DC will never make anything apart from Superman and Batman movies.
DC will never announce a Wonder Woman solo.
Marvel will beat DC to the announcement of a female superhero movie.
DC will not have a person of color lead a movie.

He's already complaining how WB lack showmanship and whatnot. Nothing but negativity. Thats why I usually stay off twitter. These d-bags of the likes of Faraci take every WB/DC news and spin it in a negative way, meanwhile anything ''the other studio'' does is met with standing ovations. SMH.

As funny and cynical as the man is, I find some sense in his point about how each of the films could have benefited from a event or solo announcement. WB has been dropping the ball in this regard for me for a while. The Wonder Woman costume reveal for instance, the Rock.

It wouldn't hurt if they planned their announcements better. There was a con that just passed and this news comes out like this...fair enough but they really could steal the show if they tried harder.

Surely they will have something better staged for next years con and not some other list or a few weeks out. Luckily Snyder will show.

Green Lantern will, as I think I previously reported, spin out of Justice League 2, which will be the first full film to feature the new Green Lantern (he'll cameo at the end of Justice League, warning the heroes about a new threat approaching Earth: Darkseid).

Welp, looks like with one solo movie Ben will become the first actor to play Batman in 4 different movies.

We'll probably see some solo Batman and Superman films happen.

That said..... don't expect them as often as the other solos.

I believe that DC's mindset is that we've spent so much time with those two, and that they're so well known, that they don't need to regularly occupy space in the slate for their solos when it can be devoted to others who have yet to have one. WHEREAS, they've both had six or more films each.


Point is, the world knows who Batman and Superman are. Not so much Wonder Woman and everyone else.

Its more about trying to spin other characters off into solo films for studios with the hope it could lead to new franchises. Like Warner Bros has attempted to do with many other characters (like Green Lantern.)

Is there an Avengers Dark movie coming out? Why should WB dilute their team up movie just to make a couple of fanboys happy? Justice League should be a big special event and title.

They have LONGER histories as known characters brother. I get you liked the comic but it's not even a comparison. Cyborg has been in three toons since the 80's and is an iconic member of the popular NEW TEEN TITANS. SHAZAM also has long pop culture roots, and has at least one bona fide star already attached. How long was the JLDark comic even around for? Do you think BREACH needs a big screen debut film too?

I now have their film slate. Why should I care if it was revealed at the NYCC. In the midst of a million other announcements. The slates announcement is pretty huge and is more at one time than marvel has given us. I'm sure the announcements will get flashier as the films get closer.
