Zac Efron gets way too much **** from geeks who have never even seen him act.

lawrence or bigelow or fine by me. though I'm partial to bigelow. she's ****ing rad.

Hmm... Baz Lurman anyone? We would at least know the Amazons would look fabulous.

I feel like he has 0 gravity or presence though. He's random all-American good looking guy #7. I've seen 17 Again and got dragged to The Lucky One. Neither make me think he can pull off authoritative leader.

I might very well be wrong though. He hasn't really had a shot at leading a big movie, he might come out and surprise people. He seems to be getting good reaction to his more recent, serious projects. He does look like quite similar to Hal.

I'm not saying I necessarily want Efron as Hal, I really think Hal should be a little older than Efron.

I hate Baz Lurman.

I am not a big fan of his work either, but from MOULIN ROUGE to ROMEO AND JULIET he can make things seem other worldly, plus AUSTRALIA had epic scope. Both kinda needed for WW, The Amazons and Paradise Isle. But I get where you are coming from.

Gotcha. I wouldn't be up in arms over it. In regards to the age, GL is being rebooted in 2020, Efron would be over 30 by then, he might be able to pull it off.

The Great Gatsby made my eyes bleed...But he does have a knack for portraying things in a surreal and grandiose fashion.

"Nod and allusion" ARE NOT the same same things as "she actually is Carrol Farris."

they're not going to go through the trouble of naming an air force officer that close to an already existing character who has similar qualities. that's just lazy writing.

No. That's lazy speculation.

He's good in Neighbors

if you're the kind of person that needs to get beaten over the head with a reference in order to get it, that's your problem. but i promise you, she was totally in the movie.
It was supposed to be a nod to Carol Ferris, but if they introduce Carol again, she'll likely be recast.

Plus we've never really seen a Baz film in a style where story is first. The grandness and theatrical aspects of the film are more front and center so it would be interesting so see him sort of scale it back a bit.

Chris Miller tweeted this out regarding the Lego Batman movie announcement.
