Not so much because of the Green Lantern theory, but because it shows pros of having the opposite approach than Marvel, regarding solo and team-up movies.

I also like this comment:

If we have already met Batman and Superman and Wonderwoman, we can see them meet these character for the first time, just as we experience them for the first time. These 3 aren’t going to know the other members’ full backstory when they first meet. This will heighten the sense of uncertainty with the competency of the team. Reading the latest article at the WSJ, they talked about how there is more than 30 major-studio films based on comics from now till 2020. I wonder how many more are going to be added as the studios try and cash in?

I don't agree with this at all. What about Man of Steel was geared to a "mature" audience? There wasn't anything smart or subversive about the film, it just had a dour tone and a dark color palette.

MoS not being "smart" or "subversive" all comes down to personal opinion and/or preference so I'm not going to argue and get into that, but it's very easy to connect the dots. There's a difference between popcorn action that Marvel fluffs out in their cinematic experience and then there's the action executed in Man of Steel, which was BRUTAL and it DIDN'T shy away from those tones. Hell, we even saw Nam-EK decapitate a U.S.A pilot in half with blood spewing everywhere. MoS was drop dead serious and took itself serious, which plays into the "dour tone and dark color pallet."

Hell, criticism's of MoS touched upon "can you take your kid to see it?" argument and was deemed "too serious" for a Superman film. But, that's just the way I see it and thought it was pretty obvious in "Nolan/Snyder realism" schtick the movie is usually connected with. If you see otherwise, that's fine too.

Seriously, he needs to keep himself in check with this stuff…getting fanboys riled up just to disappoint is a put off. After Pacific Rim he's been taken down a few notches in my book anyway.

Which is why I kinda chuckle whenever someone mentions his name to direct "X superhero property." It'll most likely never happen. I'm not convinced Pacific Rim 2 is happening until we get some official stills and a trailer.
