wasn't he the bartender when Lois gave the internet guy her article?

Yeah... Not really my favorite version of him though tbh.

He was great in the comics and the 90's animated series.

He has such a deep voice in that scene...that's who I immediately thought it was.

Superman III is on Watch in the UK right now, its close to the Superman vs Superman scene, love this movie always felt it was underrated.

Superman 3= utter garbage

:barf:

Superman III wouldn't have been terrible if you removed Richard Pryor and that stupid slapstick intro sequence.

superman 3 was my favorite superman as a kid. it was the first one i saw. i loved that scene where clark and drunk superman fought.

 Though I can never bring myself to watch it again, I do have a fondness for it.

Superman 4 is the ultimate masterpiece.

:woot:

Even though the movie was bad, I really like this quote from Christopher Reeve:

“The reason that I would want to do something like Superman IV is to offer up for children in America and everywhere else as a fun entertainment, which has an actual character at the center of it. That has a character who’s caring, who loves people, who’s considerate, who’s a gentleman as a possible antidote to the Rambos and the Chuck Norrises and the Schwarzeneggers.”

Superman III has one and a half things going for it. It had what was perhaps Reeve's best performance in any of the Superman movies, and the idea of Superman getting his morality and inhibitions taken away could work. It's only a half because the execution was piss poor.
1. Too much unnecessary and unfunny slapstick.
2. Superman is essentially a guest star in his own movie (Richard Pryor was the real main character).
3. A REALLY boring villain with a REALLY lame villain scheme.
4. Firing Richard Donner.
5. Trying to do some half-assed version of Brainiac without actually doing Brainiac.
6. Superman isn't really evil in the movie, he's just kind of a *****e and he doesn't really do anything all that terrible when he's "bad."

Just want to remind everyone about HOTLINKING...we had a case of this happening today, so be sure not to do it...

From our FAQ -

Hotlinking
Hotlinking is when you directly post an image from a website. Many websites see this as you “stealing” their bandwidth and will sometimes retaliate by automatically replacing the intended image with another when it’s posted. These images range from simple caution messages to disturbingly graphic images. If you choose to hotlink and your image is replaced by a graphic/pornographic/inappropriate image, you will be banned. This can be easily avoided by re-hosting all images at a site such as ImageShack or PhotoBucket.

i did not know that...thanks for the heads up.

Apparently the original treatment for Superman 3 had Brainiac, Mxyzptlk and Supergirl in it, but it was rejected. As much as I hate Mxyzptlk (and Dudley Moore was reportedly the top choice to play him, so I probably would have hated him even more) I still think the end result would have turned out better than what we got.

Let's see...wading through dozens and dozens of pages...

Re: Superman's freeze breath and "lung capacity", in terms of "How would we ever keep using freeze breath with limited lung capacity". It's very simple: After he is done expelling some air/freeze breath, he breathes in and expels more air. Maybe it occurs to me because I'm a singer. Dunno.

Re: WB not having a plan...there's no proof WB didn't have a plan, only that plans changed, and this isn't a bad thing. Any forward thinking and successful company changes its plans and adapts to the marketplace and a given scenario.

And SUPERMAN III would be better if they kept the sex scene.

Christopher Reeve and Richard Pryor boinking? There's an image that I'd never thought that I'd have to visualize, or want to for that matter. Reeve and Annette O'Toole, on the other hand, wow!

No, Superman and the blonde bimbo. I'd post a link, but...rules.
