This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]472735[/split]
Sorry Snyder
I'm out.
I could stomach Affleck. I was even starting to get used to the idea.
Gal Gadot I was confused about and still am a little but she's pretty and at least look sort of like the character.
But Jesse Eisenberg?
Yeah I'm out.
A Lex Luthor who is 12 years younger than Bruce Wayne?
Enjoy the hype people. It's been fun but after the 2016 news and now the news that my favorite villain is being played by an actor who I couldn't believe would be more wrong for the part I've just lost the last thread of excitement I had.
Thanks for MoS WB. It was fun, but it seems that you're going in a different direction to what I like. It breaks my heart because I love DC. But I'm only 30 so I keep hope that it'll only take 10 or 15 years to sweep this mess under the rug and reboot.
This is no longer an adaptation of Superman. It's an Elseworlds tale.

what's a page one rewrite?
Essentially starting from scratch.what's a page one rewrite?
I'm still baffled by Geoff Johns' involvement with this. There's only two ways this happened:
1) They're going forward with the established universe in GL, whether any of the cast makes cameo appearances or not, which could explain his EP credit.
2) WB actually asked him to help steer BvS along when Nolan and his wife dropped out.
Anyone else have any theories why he's involved? I can't think of any more.
Exactly. It's hard to fathom the logic. People have one thing in mind -when they don't get it, they can't change their perspective (that's all it is, after all, a different viewpoint of the same characters) thus have a tantrum and bail. Which is fine by me.And I hate to break it to you, but nearly every superhero movie is technically an Elseworlds tale. Unless you're talking about a strict adaptation like Watchmen or Sin City, you'd be hard-pressed to find a superhero movie that didn't stray from the comic book cannon and change various things.
completely rewrite a screenplay...as in starting from page one

Add that every comics, cartoon, novel and videogame based on these characters. Unless it's the original writer/artist still working on the character/story it's basically official fan fiction. Change in itself is a good thing. Whether it's liked is another.
I don't think he's there to connect Green Lantern. I think MOS's plot and the fact that no other obvious superheroes exists makes that pretty clear (as for Batman, it could be that Batman is just a legend in Gotham rather than a confirmed superhero). He's probably just there with such a small role.
He was Smallville's muse when it came to bringing in other heros. He'll be the same here.
Get out of here with your logic and reason, Loki. What gets me is that a lot of people here kept saying that they wanted someone "out of the box" to play Lex when guys like Cranston, Strong, Zane, etc were rumored. And now that WB HAS cast someone WAY outside the box, a lot of people are whining about it and saying that it should have been Cranston. This pick strikes me as a very contemporary one, given all of the younger ridiculously rich people that have emerged over the past few years. It's a new take on Lex, and I'm interested to see where they're going with this.
