BvS All Things Superman and Batman: An Open Discussion - Part 5

The entire point of that episode was that Superman was letting his distrust of Lex Luthor turn him into a paranoid dick, and he was taking out his frustration on Captain Marvel because Marvel reminded him of himself before he got all jaded and paranoid. The level of destruction in that fight was meant to paint Superman in a negative light as a continuation of that theme. It has everything to do with the damage done in the fight, and it's the big difference between the fight in that episode and the fight in the movie.

I seem to recall that the whole season the villains had manipulating the Justice League into looking bad and this was one of the final straws.

Well that's pretty interesting. Superman is not meant to be acting like his usual self in that scene -- he is very much painted as the aggressor. So if we compare it to MOS, Superman is essentially Zod and Captain Marvel is Superman -- especially considering the point about Captain Marvel being young and naive. How does Captain Marvel come off in that JLU scene? How much responsibility does he hold?

@The Question

Soo what your saying is... All of that destruction is Superman's fault? Hmm I disagree. It appeared to me that both of them (God like beings) created equal the damage. Something that would happen if there were to be a fight between two people with this kind of strength and power. Same for the movie.

You'd be right. After Capt. Marvel resigns Batman tells Superman "They set you up", more or less confirming Superman had a right to his suspicions. The Cadmus arc of JLU, is to my mind the best continuing storyline ever produced in American Superhero animation. It more than made up for the very dry and to my mind very uninteresting JL show and most of it's poorly executed stories. The only stories I enjoyed from that show were Starcrossed, The Darkseid/Brainiac team-up and The Justice Lords.

What kind of cameos can we expect in 2015?

i seem to recall it culminating in the bad guys taking over the Watchtower and firing on a city.

something to discuss...
what do you think? moon destroyed or clouds that gave that effect?
I´m inclined to think that the moon is destroyed cause seemed like a little separation of both sides..
What do you think you guys?

City wide destruction in a comic book story? Not if superman can help it.

I did enjoy when I read an article specifically calling up Olsen's quote about "he saved us" smugly followed by 'from what...look at the place'
I suppose this would be the obvious answer...respectively.

I think with Zod turning Earth into Krypton he would continue the bad practices that got Krypton in trouble and would end up destroying the Earth in the same way.

Uh? did you read my question only was about your opinion as if the moon is destroyed or the clouds gave the effect?

Good thought but my question was about the moon, read the bold part of my post please :cwink:

Yeah, definitely looks like the moon got broken up. I wonder what effects that would've had on the tides, and if that would've interfered with Zod's plans to rebuild Krypton. Probably not, with the gravity beam on their side.

I would like to see Wonder Woman introduced in that, i think it's a great occasion to introduce her. If they take inspiration from the Wonder Woman DVD, when themyscira was hidden by the power of the gods, her introduction should be easy. Less risky than a solo film.

I wasn't answering your question.
If I must, I'd say the moon is destroyed, clouds don't do that spider web thing.

That's right what I´m thinking.. thanks for the answer :cwink:

Is that an official page? If so; interesting!

It's official. I wonder when the announcement is coming. Within the hour?

It does answer the question about the moon. I think Krypton's moon was destroyed because of mining or whatever they did to Krypton…stands to reason they would mine the moon for energy the same way.

Didn't Jax-Ur destroy one of their moons?
