This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]481297[/split]
Paul Verhoeven's career nosedived after Showgirls.
Yeah, it did. I still wonder what he was trying to accomplish with that movie. I'm not sure if he was literally trying to make a horrible film, or if it was intended as a satire like his other movies. Either way, it's terrible on every level, although Gina Gershon is hot in it.
Fixed.Like I said in the last thread, this thread moves faster than the Wrestling Thread.a speeding bullet![]()
Showgirls, like Starship Troopers, has been enjoying a resurgence in reputation. Paul Verhoeven has more respect now than he did ten years ago. I suspect the same will happen to Zack Snyder down the line.
If Batman v Superman is actually a great film, he will get praise for it.
Not only that, but some people think just because they personally like something, it must be great, and anyone that disagrees clearly has something wrong with them.
It goes both ways. Some who dislike something will vehemently deny any contrary opinion. Not only that, but some people think just because they personally like something, it must be great, and anyone that disagrees clearly has something wrong with them.
There's a lot of that these days. I think people are much more thin-skinned so they lash out when somebody doesnt like the same thing they do.

That goes both ways.
