I thought Henry Cavill's acting in MOS was great. That is my opinion. I didn't think he was wooden at all.

Oh well, we can agree to disagree...

The scene with Lois in the Interrogation Room is a great few moments between the two.

I really enjoyed Cavill as Superman, personally. He had good moments of levity with everything going on around him in that film.

My hope is that he has even more of that "Big Blue" optimism to play against angry BatGod. The animated series, especially JL/JLU did a great job of showing them cracking on and playing off of each other that was pretty true to both characters.

I liked Cavill in MOS. I think he's capable of even more in BvS. We'll get to see his Daily Planet Clark Kent which should broaden his performance.

Fair enough i guess. I thought he was pretty one-dimensional myself. Either flashing a cutesy smile or looking concerned, and that was the extent of his emotions. And then he was given a few lines of dialogue and nothing more. Im hoping Chris Terrio gives him a bunch of dialogue so we can see what he does in his scenes with Lois or Bruce.

Agreed, but hopefully not the full on bumbling, goofy Clark from previous.

Way to handle a situation.
:funny:

(raises hand) I'm a Superman fan that dislikes the STAS Brainiac and the show in general despite the odd episode I though was well done. Frankly, you actually have many Superman fans that have problems with STAS from top to bottom. I for one was never satisfied with Timm's DCAU until the JLU seasons.
Ok, apologies. It is very rare to come across Superman fans that dislike TAS as well as the take on Brainiac.

Saw this on r/batman, it's basically the most epic thing i've heard in a long time

How good, is the pilot of Gotham?

8 out of 10 for me.

Off to a good start. I would like to see them ease up on some of lighting in some sets...I want would prefer the gritty urban feel. I want to see more X-Files type mystery and tone in some episodes.

As long as they keep the characters interesting and mysterious with some good action, detective work, and twists. It should continue to do fine. :shr:

Liked McK as Gordon and Logue as Bullock. Pinkett-Smith and the guy who played Penguin were good also. Were Gordons GF Barbara and Montoya former lovers?? That was an interesting scene.

The small nitpick other than the lighting in some set pieces....was Alfreds dialogue. It was hard to understand the actors dialogue a few times.

Other than that....a solid 8 out 10 for me and a good start for the show.

I haven't watch the show and I refuse to. Not because I don't think the show will be good but because I think it will be great. I don't want to get sucked in to a show only to have Fox cancel it after two seasons. I flat out don't trust Fox any more. They have canceled every single show I have really loved save for 24.

I agree with that for sure. He really hasn't had a good script at all, and i felt bad when a poster came on here saying that they heard Cavill saying something in an interview, like MOS was the best script he ever got his hands on. That's sad.

He was serviceable sure. That's because he's a genuine humble guy and it's easy for him to bring that into the role of Clark Kent, and he looks fit for it. But that's the only reason. So far his acting has been mediocre or bad in everything ive seen from him. He lacks dynamics. Wooden. But maybe he needs a better script.

This is one of the very first things he did and it's over 10 years old, but I think he's QUITE good in it. I'm guessing whoever directed that must have had a great hand with actors, because he gets a pretty natural performance out of Cavill. Maybe that's what he needs but hasn't had very often, a good actor's director.

EDIT: Actually, I'm not too sure I can post that in case it breaks any forum rules, but it's Inspector Lynley Mysteries Season 1 Episode 1, it's on YT.

Fox does tend to mess up shows and get rid of them prematurely.

It was cool seeing Batman 66 figures at a store recently. The distribution between stores is a bit spotty, at some stores I would see several Batman on the racks while at other stores they would have The Penguin and The Riddler but no Batman. The likeness is pretty good for a 6-inch figure but the paintwork is average, bit sloppy.

That figure looks.....weird.

Out of the series released by Mattel (Batman, Robin, Catwoman, Penguin and The Riddler) I would say The Penguin is the best of the group. The paintwork is generally good on the Penguin than the other figures; the likeness is also much better.

So MOS was on HBO today and I watched today and discovered I still don't care for it too much HOWEVER I am in awe once Supes confronts the General with crashing the drone. That scene and the graveyard/Daily Planet stuff to follow is wonderful and really feels like I'm watching a Superman film at the point, it doesn't feel like it's the end of the film but a completely different one. If the last moments of MOS are any indication of what is to come with Clark/Superman in BVS then maybe I'll be looking forward to it after all.

Well considering that the whole point was for Clark/Superman to reach a point in this development where he would be more familiar to the old time fans by the ending of the film, after he had found his place in society, I guess Snyder got what he wanted from that (overall).

On another note, I'm still holding out that there'll be some "elaborate" sequence involved in the film that will require both Superman and Batman's skills where we'll see like a montage sequence that involves them coming up with their plan on how to tackle the situation and executing it.

Wasn't that the whole point of MOS though? Showing Superman before be becomes THE Superman he all know?
Zack has said that he could have started the MOS with the ending of the movie (Clark going to the Daily Planet etc.) but he wanted to show what (if this was the "real world") how Superman was before he fully became the symbol of hope. That's why in Jor El's monologue he says "In time" a few times, not after one bloody day of him donning the suit!

No doubt mate. I cannot wait for it! I hope one of them goes to meet the other and says, "I need your help".
Kind of like this scene! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFtZxJGsPGc haha!

Cavill is not even a good actor. He's very average.

The problem with Cavill is that when he's before a film camera he stiffens and gives an underwhelming performance. And that's a problem when he is essentially going for leading man roles.

Wait wuuut? Cavill's an underwhelming actor?

One of the biggest flaws of MOS is the writing. There are many scenes which could have been taken to a whole new level, had the writers delved further into the characters.
