They made Lego Stan for Lego Marvel, he kept the face, mostly.

To me Gotham is just another weird take on the DC Universe (and the Batman mythos too I suppose). My "definitive" Batman is hopefully coming with Batfleck, so I don't mind seeing something different in the meantime.

that's exactly how i feel. Gotham is the "Smallville" of Batman. Smallville had a bunch of Superman villains before Superman existed, and they completely changed the Superman mythology. I expect Batman to make changes to the mythology just like Smallville did.

If it's hard to swallow, people should try to accept that it's basically an Elseworlds take on Batman.

It's awesome to see modern takes on Nygma and Penguin, it's been so long since we've seen them in live action. Even though this isn't meant to be a definitive take on either of them, I'm interested in seeing both character's origins develop. IMO Batman's world is so interesting that it totally can stand on its own without Batman.

Bring on Tommy Elliot, Ethan Bennet, Roman Sionis and Harvey Dent as Bruce's schoolmates.

Think about all the minor Batman characters that are going to be fleshed out on Gotham. They're going to get to all the characters that we'll never see in a Batman movie. Who cares if those characters don't interact with a fully formed Batman? It'll still be cool to see them interacting with other characters in Gotham.

what's Peter Jackson going to do after The Hobbit movies? Do you all think there's any chance that he'll do a DC movie? He has a great relationship with WB...

I see WB pushing GDT for a DC film. He's been linked to a number of them in the past, he was even offered the Superman reboot that became MOS. I hope that Justice League Dark film happens, but I'd be open to GDT doing ANY DC property pretty much.

That's not a surprise. it was confirmed ages ago that scenes would be shot in Chicago and surrounding area's i.e Kent farm in October.
