I suppose its a good thing this time round they are showing this to the critics first and giving them some special treatment (there was a party afterwards) and Patty Jenkins is all over Twitter thanking these folks. All part of the game these days I suppose.

Does WB or the director have the final say on when to show it to the critics?

It's nice to hear something positive. New pic of Steve Trevor -

Best BTS pic of him so far

Show them the movie a month earlier, throw them a party, treat them like rockstars and tell them on twitter how awesome it was to meet them and you have your "happy" critics with positive reviews. If that doesn't tell you enough about how honest and professional they are, nothing will. Quality of the film is not important now, all people care is what score you got on a website and how much money it made.

I dont give a crap about what critics say about WW. The only reason I care is because there are some people who cant enjoy the film and call it good, unless the critics give them permission to. They need that validation badly. Another reason is, it will help the BO.

Look I disagreed 70% of these critics on BvS, so why should I take their word on WW as gospel now? I simply dont trust them, I dont trust their judgement. There are a few critics who I trust, and I like to read their reviews. Roeper, Hughes, Mendelson etc. I will read their reviews after I see the film. I will see for myself and decide. They seemed pretty pissed that they didnt get to see BvS before the fan screening, and that Zack told them to hide spoilers. But for WW they seem pretty happy to have a early screening, and then have a dinner party after, with Jenkins and Johns there to stroke their egos. So I guess thats gonna work out.

Thats all I will say for the matter, I dont want to make this a "thing". Dont bother trying to argue with me on this, I'm not interested, and I will ignore your reply.

It's a pretty Chinese thing to build relationships after work to gain brownie points for your career, but you have a better chance of getting jobs if you have connections in NZ, so I suppose Wetern culture is similar in a way.

Disney Marvel treat critics like rocks tars, and WB is learning the game in this genre, in the society we live in now, sure up all areas is better than taking risks with PR stuff, at the end of the day, critics can decide the box office and studio's pockets most of the time. Disney have all those SW and Marvel conventions as well, while WB announced stuff at shareholder meetings, so I am not talking BS, Disney works hard at their PR stuff.

I expect Johns and Deborah Snyder to be doing the rounds in November, if that's how they are gonna roll in the new regime.

Disney is well integrated and tightly run company, just look at Marvel's Agents of Shield series, ABC network is still running it despite not so good ratings, whereas in case of WB, HBO refuses to have any DC related shows, had HBO been running any DC series that had ratings similar to AoS, it would have canceled it.

WB has many companies under it abut they are loosely run, that is, they don't support each other's business. Disney is simply more professional company.

You would think WB would be run more smoothly given how long they've been around!

I guess the advantage is they have a "director-friendly" reputation than say the Disney films.

Disney owns ABC & WB owns HBO. If either company think it's worth having a show on their network it will be on. It has nothing to do with it being a tightly run company or not. Disney obviously thinks AOS is worth having otherwise it would be off air like Agent Carter.

How does that show they're a professional company? Smallville ran for 10 seasons even with dipping ratings, last season with Arrow. HBO refusing to have DC shows as you say shows it's less professional? CW looks like a hub for most of the DC shows,HBO looks a hub for mature original content. That's being less professional?

Critics can suck it. If they can be influenced so easily then their whole profession is a complete joke. And it also proves what we've always suspected: a little ass kissing goes a long way. Reminds me of how Devin "What is Consent" Faraci completely changed his tune after they let him visit the set and take a few pictures.

CW is running those DC shows as they were not having new popular shows at one point of time. Even now, there was an interview where CW's exec said that they don't want more DC shows. And, CW is jointly owned by WB and CBS.

Cartoon Network canceled Young Justice, GLTAS even when they were popular and had enough viewership. Disney's toon network (Disney XD) runs poorly rated Hulk agents of SMASH, it would have been canceled on Cartoon Network long ago.

Time magazine (when it was owned by Time Warner) gave out negative review for MoS, imagine Disney's publications giving a negative review to Thor (for example)

"We are embargoed until the end of the month but it might lift sooner!"

If true, this is a stupid move by WB. I think the embargo will be lifted earlier.

Agreed. I lost faith in film critics when I realized how fickle, easily skewed and political they are. Bringing prejudice, bias, preconceptions and holding grudges like they did for BVS. These children shouldn't have the sway they do in the entertainment sphere

Some of you guys, seriously.

It's like, we're all invested in the film being good and being talked about in a good light. Why stink up the board with your ********.

I thought the review embargoes lifted on May 25, the day of the L.A. premiere.

Hmm...

Jeez ****, I knew some of you were anxious about the reviews but damn, some of you are acting like idiots.

May 25th could be "end of the month".

But either way, there was never any confirmation that it was on this day so don't act like it.
