Amy Adams is Lois Lane: - Part 6

I'm still not sure if Amy is the right person to play Lois. But I wasn't sure about that on Kate Bosworth either (not only because I have personal vendetta against her).

But aside from that, I was wondering. I can remember, and correct me if I'm wrong on this one because I can't be arsed to look it for, but didn't Lois started out as being a blonde in the very early comics of Superman, or in the cartoon(s)? I don't know why I have that in my head, and I might be completely out of it.

Don't think she's even been blonde tho...

I have a good feeling that she will get the right type of tone with the Lois "attitude" so to speak.

It is a bit of a shame to know she didn't hit the mark visually to most fans for a modern Lois, that Cavill did for a modern Superman.

I guess if you know she will act the part well, it should help you let go of the look you had in mind for Lois though.

Why do people keep bringing up Smallville like its a good thing? Not only was it a horrible dye job, but they only made her blonde so she wouldn't get in the way of the Queen Brunette, Lana.

Everyone seems to like the Fleischer cartoons, but no one seems to want a redheaded Lois. I don't know why the majority of people (at least in this thread) just don't care. I can't think of the last time I saw a movie where the hair color of an actor or actress in the movie was worth talking about, unless it was bright pink or something.

I wish we would have gotten a set photo of Clark and Lois interacting in a scene on set by now. I mean I would have thought that we'd have one by now given that Amy was spotted filming her role in the Alaska set where Henry was filming as well.

I brought it up because hopefulsuicide said that she wasn't sure if Lois was ever blonde.

I kind of prefer Lois as a red head.

I hate to bring up the hair thing again but is it just me or is Amy's hair even lighter than it usually is?

Edit: Okay I see people actually did bring up the hair thing again.

Yeah, a week or two before filming started she was sporting darker hair, so they actively chose to dye her hair and lighten it for the movie.

If James Bond can be blond Lois can be a redhead.

I don't think for most people it's the red that is the problem. It's the fact that the hair is so light. She looks like standard Amy. I'd say there is a difference between Craig as a blonde Bond and Amy as a strawberry blond Lois. Craig's facial features and hair style still gave him that tough, but attractive look that is needed for Bond. The colour doesn't matter that much because the overall look is right on (in terms of capturing the spirit of the character, I know your avatar is the Fleming commissioned sketch). Amy unfortunately looks like Amy. They didn't do anything to her hair (colour or style) to make her look more tough and professional. A shorter hair style or darker hair colour would have been more in line with that.

For me at least, this is all nitpicking. As long as she gives a great performance, I'm sold. I still just kinda wish they had cut her hair or something to give the character a more distinctive appearance.

To be honest I was shocked when I heard Daniel Craig would have blonde hair, because I always get a little funny when people make big visual changes to iconic characters like that.

But I kind of warmed to the idea more because of Daniel Craig. Because he can come across as the tough but edgy James Bond. And plus, I never though D.C hair was that blonde, more of a dark sandy blonde kinda thing.

But you're right, it's not so much about hair color or whatever, it's more about getting the look of the character. If they (and Amy) didn't want her to have dark brown or black hair they could have easily gone with a richer red brown, which Lois has been seen with many times.

It's just, she's not looking like the character. Lois is known for being feminine, but also having a toughness to her, which I'm not seeing so far at-all.

It seems strange that people have worried so much about this but people have suggested Denzel for Perry White. I don't understand that. If Lex Luthor was portrayed with the intensity that Denzel was showing off in "Training Day" then, that would be amazing. But more has been made of Lois Lane's hair than of Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.

Part of it, I think, is that we are spoiled by having a comic book identical Clark/Superman with Cavill. Also, I think it has to do with the spirit of the character. Amy's standard appearance doesn't give off that Lois Lane vibe. Denzel has a tendency to look brooding and badass, hence his suitability as Luthor. Also, we know he looks good bald. Fishburne looks gruff but intelligent and insightful. Great for Perry. A person is born with their skin colour whereas clothing and style choices like hair say more about someone's personality since they can change it. So far, Amy hasn't looked very Lois Lane. I would have been happy if she just cut her hair shorter like one sees on so many no non-sense female professionals.

Also Lois is more of an important character, so I guess people are more worried about it.

Dammit, I hate not being able to view vids from my phone!

And to think, at one point some of us weren't even sure if Lois was even going to be in this film...it's funny how much things changes over time.lol

Lois Lane is part of the film, but where are Lana Lang, Lex Luthor and Jimmy Olsen ?

I'm not sure about Lex, but the rest seem to be joining a party with the likes of Robin, Batgirl, Mr. Freeze, and Clayface from Nolan's series.lol

I'm still hoping that both Lex and Jimmy would be introduced in a sequel.

Couldn't give two hoots about Lana though personally.
