hanks. I'm trying to remember Guy Pearce's name from Memento now... I will name him.. it's been a while... what was the name of the character..................YES! LEONARD right? Right? Or was it Danny? Teddy? I think it was Leonard.
Shelby. Leonard Shelby. Lenny.

You hit the nail on the head, Larxene. Catwoman in the comics sucks nowadays :cmad:. I liked her best as the playful yet competent thief from her first series. I don't know why DC editors seems hell bent on keeping her on the path of victim and loser. It seems like they reward writers for how much crap they can pile on this poor woman. I thought things would get better with Batman Inc but looks like the clock's struck midnight and she's back in that pumpkin called Sirens again.

She absolutely needs a reboot. New origin. New costume. New creative team. Wonder what Johns has in mind for her in Earth One. He did say he and Gary Frank had big plans for her.

I wouldn't even mind if she became an ally as long as she retained some of what made her so dynamic in the first place. She lost that freedom, and the joy she used to experience when doing so. It's sad to see, but there's nothing that can be done unless there's a turn around for her character. She's mostly all white now, helping people, being a do-gooder, a guardian to her neighborhood, etc., all the while being encased with angst. If I wanted to see that, I would've tuned in to every single heroine. Batman was the anti-hero of the story. Catwoman was a chaotic, independent, thrill-seeker who followed her own rules, wrong or right. Part of the Rogues Gallery, but also smoothed in with the good guys. Not belonging there, yet she fitted in. It's why she could so easily switch sides (current Selina can't do that anymore without it being odd). Anti-villain with a heart of gold (and sane). Completely obliterated recently. At least she hasn't gone down like Talia did.

I can only hope those "big plans" are for the better. She needs her reputation back and for the complaints to end.

I haven't been keeping up, but they have her back in Sirens? I actually love the whole trinity of "Kitty", Harley, and Ivy, but not when they are doing Selina so wrong in the process :csad:. That's why I liked Gotham Girls better (the flash animation by WB).

I thought BTAS Catwoman was lame. Didn't she even have a fainting couch in that Roland Daggett episode? Much prefer her in The Batman or Brave and the Bold.
I was trying to be more nice, but yeah, she was. She was absolutely, freaking gorgeous, no doubt, but the characterization was...lukewarm. I know Selina's had her damsel in distress moments in the comics, but in BTAS, it's like that was her sole purpose of the episodes she was in. The most vivid one was with Red Claw, where I was waiting for her to do something instead of just getting kicked and kicked until some cat saved her. A cat saved her. I forgot if it was a tiger or something, but still, how pathetic. The only episode I liked with her in it was Catwalk - almost made up for the rest. Almost.

Her TNBA version, despite some people's complaints about the series, did her much, much more better. Then the rest of her two animated selves (ones you mentioned) have been incredible to me.

I can't make up my mind about Anne. Some days I have my doubts, but I really hope she does well because I don't think Catwoman can afford to be ruined again. But I agree she's not the only factor here. I share the concerns about Bale and Nolan as well. I've loved all of Nolan's films however I can't think of any of his female characters that could be used as a gauge for how he'd write Selina.
Sometimes I'm confident that she'll be good, to the point that the film is going to work out, but then other times my doubts start filtering in when I think about the fact that it can either fail or succeed. People make the comparisons with Heath on how he was amazing in the end, but who's to say that the same fortune happens twice? There's nothing concrete to say she's good. Or that she's awful. So like Two-Face's coin, it's left up in the air to see which side it lands on, if you ask me.

I'm really excited to see Nolan's portryal of Catwoman. It looks like he's combining elements from TLH (Her connection to the Falcones) and Brubaker's run (Holly, etc.)

It's going to be awesome.

What about Batgirl Returns ? She was amazing there. Poise, dialogue, bad-assery. Not to mention that the artwork seemed a tad more generous in terms of budget.

And that's kinda of it. Again, she's not ugly, but she just doesn't give me that sexy Catwoman vibe. I mean, I was at Subway today, and the girl making my sub, looked a LOT like Hataway. Just a regular everyday girl. Nothing appalling, yet, nothing mind blowing attractive about her, either.

When I think of Catwoman, I don't think of the everyday normal girl who works at Subway, I think of the girl who can catch my attention with a simple glimmer of her eyes.

I'm not saying she'll do a bad job, cause that's to be determined, I'm just saying I don't see it yet.....I really don't.

Have you seen Havoc? If not, go watch it and get back to us on how sexy Anne can be.

I think she's sexy 'nuff but I haven't seen Havoc yet. Will get around it eventually I suppose. Honestly, I'm a lot more interested about her interpretation of Catwoman. Even if this is a role unlike anything else she's done before, it should be a unique place to exercise her acting skills, no?

Would she go to the same extremes as Heath? Can she balance the intensity that Bale brings to Batman? Or will her role be more naturalistic like Eckhart's Two-Face?

Depends on the route she plans to go. She's played everything from meek to tortured to slightly creepy.

Yes, I've seen the movie(which was pretty horrible), and I've seen the pics posted here in the thread. What's the point? I don't think she's that sexy. Again, she's not ugly, she just doesn't do anything for me, and she doesn't scream "Catwoman" to me. She may when I see her in the suit, but as of now, she doesn't. Sorry.....

Having just read the premise of Havoc from wikipedia... I really don't think I can sit through all of it, sexy Anne or not.

Plus she's meant to be baby-faced there right? What with the 'rich teenaged brat' angle and all?

I haven't watched Brokeback Mountain yet, maybe that's the next one I'm going to pick up (of Anne's), fact that we have the Joker there is added fanboy charm :D But anyway, I caught her in Devil Wears Prada on TV and it seemed that she did the role justice. Again, not very Catwoman, but eerily a lot like Michelle's Selina Kyle. I'm sure it wouldn't be the approach, but something to talk about around here?

Also, her personal experiences seem more promising and reads like a cool, collected chapter from a detective thriller:

Relationship with Raffaello Follieri

In 2004, Hathaway began a relationship with Italian real estate developer Raffaello Follieri. During their relationship, Hathaway took part in the development of the charitable Follieri Foundation, serving as a financial donor as well as a member of the foundation's board of directors until 2007. A Manhattan-based charity founded in 2003 focusing on programs such as providing vaccinations for children in Third World nations, the organization had come under investigation in June 2008 by the IRS, for failing to file tax papers required from non-profit organizations. Citing the fear that this and other ongoing legal issues involving Follieri would become detrimental to her acting career, Hathaway ended her relationship with him in mid-June 2008.

Follieri was arrested in June 2008 on fraud charges for allegedly fleecing investors out of millions of dollars in a scheme in which Follieri posed as the Vatican's point man on real estate investing. It was reported that the FBI confiscated Hathaway's private journals from Follieri's New York City apartment as part of their ongoing investigation into Follieri's activities; however, Hathaway was not charged with any crime. On October 23, 2008, after earlier pleading guilty, Follieri was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.

In the October 2008 issue of W Magazine, Hathaway spoke for the first time of the break-up and Follieri's subsequent arrest. She related that she "spent a week in shock" after Follieri's arrest, and credited the kindness of friends for her ability to keep working during such difficult times. That same month, during her turn as host of Saturday Night Live, Hathaway joked about the experience in her opening monologue.

Havoc is terrible. But she's pretty good in it.

Short safe for work clip from Havoc.

How come no one else has brought up that JGL was in Havoc? I just found out through IMDB. Nolan, you sly dog... :funny:

He's in there at the beginning of the film.

Nice little trivia :) It must be nice for all of them to work together again, on a BATMAN movie no less.

I had a dream of Anne in the Catwoman costume last night. It was great.

It was odd because I heard cheese helps you get funky dreams, so I had some cheddar cheese before going to bed and that's just one of the awesome dreams I had last night.

JGL will make you cringe in Havoc, and not in a good way. *shrug*

Anne however, will make your change jump in your pocket. :o
