Some interesting info (from Dallas Comic-con via CBM):

4. Stephen Amell want’s Ra’s al Ghul to be on the show.

“I want Ra’s al Ghul on the show. Let me clarify something about the pronunciation of Ra’s al Ghul. Because Nyssa in the most recent episode says Raysh, but its been established prior by people in Starling city saying its Razz. So I needed to follow suit despite mild protestations made by me. It would be fantastic to see that character on the show. We certainly name dropped him… a lot."

Who wouldn't want Ra's al Ghul on the show it would be interesting.

I'm just not seeing why people are all upset he beat Nyssa one on one especially the way he got the upper hand. She got behind Oliver and pulled her blade, Oliver grabbed her hand and rolled over into the chokehold. He had the superior strength in the fight and he used it.

Another thing (not sure if this is the right thread) but I was thinking about the proposed Hourman series. Do you think it will be connected to "Arrow"? I ask because of the drug that was used in the comics being called "Miraclo" (or something like that...would be interesting if the Mirakuru drug was the original form for it.)
Well it wouldn't be that far of a leap, espicially since they could say that the mirakuru was modified into miraclo so that it wouldn't create the rage and insanity but also isn't permanent and that would explain the one hour time limit from the comics. If that did happen, it'd be interesting to see Oliver's reaction to the availability of something that could make his normal human skills obsolete.

Damn watching season one and seeing Laurel be a badass makes me even more angry with how they are handling her.

^ ehhh taking down a rich boy isn't really badass BUT me hitting a 1000 posts is!

5. Episode 15 is called "The Promise" and its all about Katie Cassidy's Laurel and Ollie

"Before flying here I watched episodes 14 and 15. There's a scene between Katie Cassidy and I in episode 14 that I'm incredibly proud of and as a whole... the episode 15 is called "The Promise"... and as a whole I was just blown away by that episode. I actually bought wi-fi on the plane yesterday so that I could be in email with the producers and the director just to say I'm very proud to be a part of this. Our 15th episode is by far our best episode of the series."

Interesting. Big developments involving Oliver and Laurel to come it seems. Amell's best episode.

Oh, thank god. That means it won't be too much Laurel.

^ yep and more slade and Sara( slade is in the island mask... So good)

So, we've got...

2x14 - Time of Death (Feb. 26)
2x15 - The Promise (March 5)
2x16 - [BLACKOUT]Suicide Squad[/BLACKOUT] (March 19)
2x17 - [BLACKOUT]Birds of Prey[/BLACKOUT] (March 26)

Obviously cannot wait for #16 and #17.

I don't the sense Laurel is relevant to episode 15. He seems to praise their scene from "Time of Death" and switch gears to how "The Promise" is good.

^ yeah thats what I think.

Any idea what the cause is for the 75% island flash back is? Last year it was when oliver was nearly killed.

Ya seems like the person who reported it got confused.

I'm assuming it really jumpstarts the collapse of Ollie and Slade's relationship on the island.

Because she's Ra's al Ghul's daughter, his heir, and his second in command. The show has built up the LOA as being these uber-badasses. Also, Oliver was NEVER able to straight up beat Malcolm Merlyn in season 1, and he's not as high-ranking as Nyssa. Plus, there's been no indication that Oliver underwent any form of special training in the year between season's one and two, so it's and inconsistency in his fighting prowess. Nyssa is the heir to Ra's, but freaking China White put up more of a fight against Oliver than Nyssa did.

I think people are over-thinking this. Ra's himself is a good fighter, but Batman has beaten him numerous times in one on one combat, so he's not the best. It's Ra's mind and his massive organization that make him the real threat, not his fighting prowess, which don't get me wrong, isn't shabby, but it's not what makes him so powerful.

Secondly, Nyssa was obviously not thinking clearly, and reacted more out of passion then a cold calculated attack. In short, she was vulnerable, and even the best fighters can get beaten when they're not mentally on their game.

Plus assuming Talia exists, Nyssa wouldn't even be the second-in-command.

Malcolm whupped Ollie not because he was a LOA member for two years but because he's the show's over-arching villain and Ollie's Arch-Nemesis. His whole buildup as a threat was before and outside the loa. Besides as others have said we don't know Nyssa's place in the loa, Ra's has other children and disciples who could be better/higher.

I wouldn't call him the show's main villain and I wouldn't call him Oliver's nemesis.

I just don't think this show has one major series villain and as for Oliver's nemesis, I think with what we have learned so far this season it's obviously Deathstroke.

I would, he killed Ollie's father and was the reason Ollie got stranded on the Island and hence became GA. He not only has antagonistic ties with Ollie but with his mother as well, who he also banged. He was responsible for the death of Ollie's best friend and the reason Ollie failed the city. He's the only bad guy that Ollie hasn't "defeated", and now is forever linked to him as the father of his sister. There is a lot more story left with Malcolm that's being slowly explored in an over-arching way, and not just in relation to Ollie.

Slade on the other hand is as much Ollie's friend as he is his enemy, considering we don't know how much he's influence by the Mirakuru. It's very plausible that Slade can be redeemed, Malcolm can't.
