Because there have been about 4 people in SC who have hit something without needing automatic weapons. And those 4 in order were Diggle, Quentin, Moira and Laurel. None of them are trying to kill Oliver, right now. Of course if Slade decides to go with guns instead of his sword Oliver is in trouble.

Editing to add, maybe there was 1 more person who hit someone but hell if I can remember. Most are like Shrapnel and cannot hit Oliver when he is standing still.

Yeah...Oliver's been stabbed/shot enough times by now that I keep wondering "Why the heck aren't you wearing body-armor?" But it's part of the suspension of disbelief I suppose.

Still, it's something I think about often. When MJW's character stabbed him with his tiger claws that was the first thing that went through my head.

He probably thinks it'll slow him down. He's able to avoid gunfire most of the time because he is constantly moving. That said, it wouldn't hurt to invest in a bulletproof vest.

Aside from comic book logic, it is probably for the same reason he wears green instead of a darker color for urban camouflage: he's just used to it. That's how he trained on the island and thinks any body-armor would slow him down.

Following the various twitter accounts from the show, I keep on seeing mentions of a HUGE fight being organised. Bambam specifically has been tweeting photos from training.

They are seriously hyping this up.... WTF is going on in the finale?

Imagine if Slade comes at Oliver with Grundy in tow and Brother Blood's disciples. However, Slade is threatening Thea too, which prompts Malcolm to show up and help defend her.

Ollie and Merlyn vs. Slade and Grundy. That would be amazing.

Alternatively, Blood pulls a aStarscream and Arrow and Deathstroke's duel ends up becoming a three-way melee where Arrow must choose to fight between Deathstroke and Grundy, manages to use gamesmanship to actually come out on top, only to find Merlyn came back and kidnapped Thea.

That's my prediction anyway. I still think Blood will break free on his own as the Season Big Bad while Slade evolves into a series big bad.
