Okay this season is shaping up to be amazing.
PETER STORMARE as Count Vertigo
DEVON AOKI as Katana
BRANDON ROUTH as The Atom
??? as Ra's Al Ghul

that already sounds so good, and there are plenty of even bigger announcements to come if Amell is to be believed

I think the third season could see the Birds of Prey, Outsiders, or a Justice League of sorts.

As far as Routh is concerned, I've only seen him in Superman Returns, so I can't say much about his acting other than he did a pretty decent Reeve Superman impersonation. But I'm interested to see what he can bring to the table in this show.

 you did get Jean Loring she was Moira lawyer during the second season

My bad. I forgot. Easter Eggs are hatching in Arrow at an alarming rate.

Amell's tweet was pretty bizarre, who knows...

But that list you've got there (along with Slade) really is a hellova a lot more interesting than Ollie is in Arrow.

I'd love that, but they're going to have to find a way to give Ollie more gravitas to stand in the orbit of the Outsiders or whatever version of the JL.

If Nightwing does ever show up in this series his first line should be "You really don't know what you're doing, do you?"

He was fun in Scott Pilgrim.

Dear nerds,

IT'S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT ****ING MARVEL!!!

The people acting like the decision to include The Atom this season is based solely on Ant-Man.

Until the producers state unreservedly that this had nothing to do with Antman, we should believe it does :o

And when they do, we will call them liars.

The last couple pages no one even mentioned Ant-Man.

Not in here, but some of the other threads. Everyone needs to hear it. EVERYONE! :cmad:

:o

Routh is a very mediocre actor, but we'll see if he can deliver this time, who knows... I'm wondering if he's really going to have powers, he could just be Ray Palmer before becoming the Atom, the character is SFX heavy and Arrow doesn't have a GoT type of budget, or maybe he will only use his powers in a couple of episodes.

Outside of SR, the only other thing I watched with him in it was Dylan Dog, and frankly I was not impressed. He's a bland actor, but this role might be a perfect fit for him. Who knows?

What I'm curious about is did he audition for the role, or did the creators seek him out? It doesn't really matter, but if they sought him out then that's pretty nice of them to include him another DC franchise.

I think the producers just wanted Routh and then wrote in Daniel...Atom to cater to him. He was also in something with Lotz recently. I remember the arrow producers tweeting him.

Wow! Good info. Thank you.

This is in my response to those people

The Atom- First Appearance- October 1961
Ant-Man- First Appearance- January 1962

He was in Chuck, and I liked him there. He was in Scott Pilgram, and I also liked him there.

I wonder if Routh will have a cross over on Arrow? That would be kind of neat.

Well let's not pretend that Amell is the second coming of Nicholson or anything.

If they do share screentime, I'm sure Routh will be just fine.

The problem being that even Amell's little bit of flavor is more than Routh's ever had. The dude is a cardboard cutout. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong, but I'm preparing to be entirely underwhelmed by his performance.
