Neal Adams was on Fatman Batman and Kevin Smith said they were casting for Ra's 6 months ago.

Neal: Theres some rumors that Ras al Ghul is going to appear in Arrow

Smith: Yeah I’ve heard. they were casting like 6 months ago.

http://smodcast.com/episodes/neal-adams-ad-man-forever/

around 46:00 min mark

Edit:

after 53:00 min mark Neil says Barrowman went to him to draw Malcolm to look a bit more "revealed" and more physical. maybe for costume ideas for the Arrow staff.

57:00 min mark Adams talks about how Arrow can do a better Ras than Nolan did. he says "if its who I think it is. it’s going to be pretty exciting"

thanks for sharing that podcast, i love both of those guys

and they got freaking Peter Stormare as Count Vertigo!!!! i can't wait to see who they can get as Ra's Al Ghul!!!

The fact that they've cast the "REAL" Count Vertigo and have done away with the previous version of the character, gives me so much hope that this season is going to be incredible. Everyone pretty much agreed that the previous interpretation was all wrong and easily the weakest part of the series, and they're totally fixing it. I LOVE that they're doing that.

At first I was disappointed reading that the new Count will still be connected to the drug. But after reading that in the New 52, he and his family lost their fortune and had to flee the country, and he got into organized crime, to amass enough wealth, to reclaim his birthright as the ruler of Vlatava, I'm cool with it.

Season looks like it will be great, and there could be no more of that teenage drama that holds Arrow back. Thea is gone with Merlyn, so no more of her love problems with Roy. Oliver is not in a relationship (thank God he didn't kiss Felicity) and he is just friends with Laurel. Laurel's only drama will probably be her Dad in hospital. The only thing I am worried about is a love triangle in the flashbacks, hopefully that doesn't happen... again.

I think it's kind of a waste to have Peter Stormare used to rehash a villain that's already been done.

Not if they knock it out of the park, and give us the Count Vertigo that everyone has been asking for. The first one was simply a joke.

Vertigo and Merlyn are 2 of of the only true Green Arrow villians that are actually worth while. He just doesn't have a great rogues gallery. So Vertigo needs to be on the show but the original one sucked so bring on somebody knew. It virtually guarentees him a longterm recurring role rather than guest villian of the week, or story arch or what ever.

I don't know how Oliver or Felicity or Laural qualify as teen drama. You do realise though that no matter how the show ended last season every show on television, including this one, will have it's main cast get involved in a romantic relationship one way or another. Whether it's a hot love story or a traingle or some angsty I want you but I'm bad for you crap you're going to see it again in season three and every season that follows. If it bothers you that much then TV is probably just not for you.

In this show the love crap has been bad, I don't mind when it's on tv if it has been handled well, but on Arrow it hasn't. Love triangles are stupid. I don't want another one in the show, romantic relationships are fine as long as they are handled well, I find love triangles to pointless drama.

haha Brandon Routh, superman from Superman Returns will be the Atom on Arrow!

I like him. I dogged him in Superman Returns but having seen him in Chuck I think he's come a long way as an actor.

I like it.

I bet they want to beat Ant-Man to screen...at least in some way.

Hmm....... so its Ray Palmer who's taking over Queen Consolidated, not Ted Kord.

I'm okay with this. And I'm all for Routh playing him. It's also nice that its for 14 episodes.

Now just imagine the CW-verse being the same as the cinematic and Atom having a scene with Superman. I know it won't happen, but still, an entertaining thought. :D

I like Brandon Routh alot... but boy, what a step down huh?

From big-screen Superman to Ray Palmer on the 3rd season of the CW's Arrow.

The Atom that is interesting, I wouldn't of guessed that and they got Brandon Routh. I love the additions for season 3 I'm super hyped to see how this is going to be pulled off.

Don't be so sure. :cwink:

[BLACKOUT]The Flash pilot teases "Crisis on Infinite Earths" and, potentially, "Flashpoint"[/BLACKOUT]

At the VERY LEAST, [BLACKOUT]we'll have a fully acknowledged DC Multiverse, shared between TV and Film.[/BLACKOUT]
