The first Count was basically a punk with a gun. He should have ended up with an arrow in his chest way sooner.
This!!
first count was a disgrace. bad acting. bad writing

Peter Stormare is going to DESTROY this. I seriously can't wait to see this. He's probably the best actor that's been on this show, he's mesmerizing in every role I've seen him in.

Now, after the Stormare announcement, I reeeeally can't wait to see who they cast as Ra's Al Ghul. Kevin Smith and Neal Adams were saying they were casting Ra's for Arrow a couple months ago... we should be getting a Ra's announcement very soon, and I have a feeling it's going to be an actor of the same caliber as Stormare :D

The Count wasn't as bad as all of you make him out to be. He was just too camp for this series.

Maybe they felt they owed the shippers at least a little something after the season 2 finale. I still think Laurel is endgame.

So Robbie Amell is going to play Ronnie Raymond, future Firestorm, on the Flash. That would be an interesting cross over at some point. No word on whether he'll actually become Firestorm on the show but it's been pointed out that he's dating Caitlin Snow, the future Killer Frost who's played by Danielle Panabaker.Kind of a big coincidence. In any case Amell is playing a maintenance worker who has something to do with Barry getting his powers so he could be involved in a cross over either way.

It would be cool to see his bro on the show once but I think it would be better if it was with out powers. I can't see GA and Firestorm teaming up.

Cousin, not brother.

. I still think Laurel is endgame.

Which would be pretty illogical, given their history.

Also the Oliver/Felicity shippers would burn part of the internet/social media to the ground. If you thought Laurel/Katie Cassidy got hate this past season wait until that happens.

If that Season 3 description would have been

Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Laurel out on a date

The shippers would have flipped out.

90% of the hate Sara got from them wasn't until after the last scene of "Heir to the Demon".

I doubt the new Count Vertigo is the person in the description. It is likely referring to Merlyn, since in the only other description of S3 released, the following is listed: "....his sister Thea, who has joined forces with his deadliest enemy." This description may be real, or it may be a fan version. From my understanding the new Count is going to be in the opener, but Merlyn is the one with the main cast listing.

In other news, for those close to Salt Lake City, Stephen Amell will be going there during September, as will be Manu Bennett and John Barrowman.

After name dropping one of Batman's greatest villains countless times, actively trying to get Nightwing on the show, and a certain easter egg in the Flash Pilot, I don't think there's much of an embargo on the big characters anymore. I think they are busy trying to figure out how to introduce these characters, in a way that it makes sense, and without having them overshadow the cast of Arrow.

They'll probably be careful with introducing the bigger heroes in the show, because at a certain point, you'll wonder why not every crisis is a cross-over event. Every time a city is in danger of getting leveled, the audience would probably expect Superman to show up at any moment, to lend a hand.

Why do we need more hero cameos or easter eggs? This show is about Green Arrow, the focus should remain on him. The Flash was enough.

Yeah, he would have been fine on Smallville. Here he just stuck out oddly.

The Felicity and Oliver date I hope ends with them both realizing it's a terrible idea. Don't **** where you eat as my uncle would say. Which I think applies to not only mistresses but coworkers as well. For Ra's Al Ghul the only person I want is Oded Fehr, anybody else maybe a let down.

The whole Felicity thing came to a head in the finale last season... why go into it any further other than random stares/lines Felicity gives about Oli being hot.

They can have hero guest spots, cameos, and easter eggs and the focus will still be on Arrow.

Wouldn't be the first time that happened on a show.

Well, sure, but if they were that afraid of how the shippers would react, they wouldn't have had Oliver pretend to love Felicity last season.

Do you always leave your house to take a dump? Seems inconvenient.

Oh i'm not saying the Producers make decisions based off what they want. Just saying it will make for an interesting time in the fandom.

I dunno... I see it as having a distinctive demeanor. By that regard, would you not say that the Joker stuck out oddly in Nolan's Batman franchise?

What I will say about Gabel's version of "The Count" is that it didn't feel like Count Vertigo.

As someone who doesn't read the comics, I thought the old Count was fine.

Yeah, at worst he was trying to hard to be Ledger-Joker like but he was a neat addition to the show for the showier villain, this show was mostly lacking in s1.

I believe the new Court Vertigo is likely to be the one from new 52 comics......being involve in organized crime to get profit. I am guessing there is a chance his birth country will be mention in episode 1 of season 3

I thinking the first court vertigo is just a messenger

It reminds me of the Zuko/Katara shippers from Avatar the Last Airbender. In fact, TVTropes(don't get stuck!) has a whole article about this phenomenon with copious examples of successful shows where the fan-fave couple is not the canon couple, with ATLAB as the main picture. Basically what happens is, the shippers don't care about canon in the first place, so, one half of the ship being in a relationship just adds an extra paragraph onto the beginning of their fanfiction, whether they write it on their computers or in their heads.

There were really Katara/Zuko shippers? I can't imagine it since it seemed like at every turn they were at each others throat.
