I'm just thinking...should Atom be a part of the Justice League movie won't it be weird for Routh to see someone else dressed as Superman?

With all the badass cosplay I've seen before, and Japan's Metal Heroes on their Kids shows, I'd be surprised if they couldn't pull it off. But I honestly didn't expect to see an exoskeleton.

Cosplay doesn't usually look good in motion and the guys doing Metal Heroes have been at it for years. May I draw your attention to Exhibit A: Smallville's Blue Beetle armor.

Now, that said, if the improvement of the Arrow or Flash costumes from Smallville to the current shows is consistent, I think we'll be just fine.

It's a totally different continuity as in CW-verse and it will be CW's own JL.

Even if the decide to use multiverse approach and use them in movies, still Routh was Superman in a different continuity (Donner verse.) Cavill has not replaced him.

Like what happened when Marvel replaced Ed Norton with Mark Ruffallo as Hulk in the same continuity.

(Imagine Norton (as Ant-man) along side Ruffallo (as Bruce Banner/ Hulk), not the same case here.)

So, no problem.

No no no, you got it wrong. I'm not talking continuity wise in a fictional sense. What I'm talking about is that since Routh did wear the Superman suit wouldn't it be a bit weird for him to watch another guy portraying the character he played?

Watching the preview for the Arrow/Flash crossover, I couldn't help bit feel a little annoyed. One of the biggest issues for the Flash is that the writers have to constantly dumb him down to ever really be in danger, and I see that happening again with this. I love Arrow, but Ollie shouldn't be able to touch Flash in a fight.

I believe Episode 8 and Episode 9 will be where the fun and excitement truly begin......the last 7 episode just build up to 8 and in 9 it is said to be a game changer......probably where it won't be slow anymore and pick up the pace

Episode 9 "The Calm" press release (longer version)

Well, if they do a Crisis movie, yes, it could be weird for Routh, but he's a pro and having a former Superman sharing the screen with the current one, would be marketing gold.

:super:

It's clear that they're going to have Barry's mind compromised and he goes "bad", which is why the Arrow and Flash will fight. I assume Barry will be out of control, which will allow Oliver to outsmart him and put him down. Flash will win the first fight, Oliver will come back and win the second.

In my rewatching of Arrow season one,in episode 10. A couple things stood out to me. The first was Oliver telling Diggle while off the Island he got a message from his dead dad explaining the list. The second was Tommy telling Laurel after his mother died Malcom was gone for 1-2yrs before returning.

I don't recall him specifically saying he got a message from his dad so much as, when off the island, his faith in the list was confirmed to be accurate. It is how I knew well before he appeared on Hong Kong that he would be leaving the island at some point.

I'm rewatching the season 1 finale and its so crazy how different everyone looks.

Also, what I liked about it this show was they didn't go the traditional route of having Oliver save everyone. He stopped Merlyn and Lance stopped a bomb, but they couldn't do it all.

He did in episode 10 it is called burned

Despite the various quibbling going on in each forum I think it's incredible that we'll be seeing this in a couple of weeks time, so cool and something as a kid I could have never imagined seeing happen in live action on TV. :D

I'm actually very curious on how they'll utilize Barry/Flash in Arrow's portion of the crossover event given on how this series has been so adamant in maintaining a realistic environment for the most part.

I think they'll simply downplay the flashiness (no pun intended) of his entrances and exits. He'll appear and disappear as needed, without any superfluous/spectacular special effects.

I still don't get the significance of going out of your way to show that both heroes exist in the same universe and then mandate "no fantastic elements" in one show?

Is there a magic barrier once you enter Starling that keeps the "magic" out?

In the Batman and Superman TAS they handled it the same way. Even though Superman existed in the same universe super powered beings stayed out of Gotham.

It's more about ambience and setting. Introducing major/flashy superpower elements would change Arrow's very significantly. This is relevant because not everyone of one show watches/is a fan of the other.

Why does Ollie always sound slightly disgruntled in the intro each week?

He says "My name is Oliver Queen, and after 5 years on a hellish island, I have come to save my city."

When he says that last bit, "I have come to save my city" he sounds rather pissed off, as if he's rather reluctant to have to do so, and it's a bit of a chore for him but he'll do so anyway. :oldrazz:

It's the same kind of tone he had in the Flash/Arrow promo before both seasons started where he says "show off".
