The thing is, right now, her character has been reduced to nothing but Oliver's love interest. Every scene with her has her either crying about Oliver, or having someone tell her to fight for Oliver. That's not growth. Every other character has shown growth this season, but the romance plot has stopped any growth that she may have had. There have been moments for her, but it always come back to her and Oliver.I'll never get how it supposedly destroyed anything because Felicity started being a real person with real emotions instead of a geek girl one liner cypher.
This is a general rule for any show and romance, it's okay as long as the show does not revolve around it. There's a reason why B-plot romances, like Roy and Thea, has been more successful.
