Some folks complain about using Ra's al Ghul but Merlyn was one of his assassins in the comics like he was in the show so they do have a legitimate reason to bring him into the story.

If Prometheus appears on Arrow then he should be a season long big bad villain.
Exciting story as in the one they gave Ra's? yeah totally not ripped down to the bone.
I care because Arrow has done a poor job with actual Green Arrow villains. I care because I'm a fan of Canary and Harper and if they struggle to use these basic characters then they have no right to use "other" characters.

I agree that they dropped the ball with a few of Green Arrow's rogues on the show.

Constantine Drakon, Count Vertigo and Komodo could of been handled a lot better.

I hope so. It's not going to do anyone any favors if they go down the CW soap opera route with the discovery of William if he's the one to bite the bullet, which would already be dark in itself (no pun intended).

I think they want to show that Felicity is adult so the best way to show this is act professional but still angry. I also do not believe they break up because of this since if they behaving like adult it does not seem to indicate a breakup

Maybe they do break up but it's in a mature adult way. Felicity just realizes that Oliver's not really at the point he needs to be for marriage. She knows she needs and deserves something different and better in a relationship. In a positive way, not derogatory to who Oliver is. He is who he is and she accepts that and it's just not right for her.

I do have to agree all the Felicity stuff is a problem for me. If we didn't have so much Felicity/Olicity then maybe we also wouldn't have to spend extra time with Donna. I just think Felicity time cuts into time I'd like for other stuff like more about the villains, the fights and some better story arcs for other characters. I'm really not interested in all the wedding type stuff and the mom-daughter boyfriend-love problem talks. I started watching for the action and crime-fighting and Oliver's story regarding his journey as vigilante but not his love journey. I think they should have just kept him single. Maybe if they break up Olicity in a mature way they can just keep him single (he can have temporary non-serious girlfriends, but no serious love story stuff -- just takes up too much time)

Get up old man...

Snazzy pic from future ep:

Bramford said the Oliver/Merlyn fight was originally longer

Old man Oliver is pretty cool and it does look like Slade

Hate to say it, but Oliver's beard looks distractingly fake to me.

I almost thought it was a new costume, but I just realized he's wearing the same one he has now, only with long sleeves underneath. Almost looks like the leather jacket from last season with the vest from season 4 over it.

Didn't someone ( I think Amell) say that a Wilson would be turning up? It is probably one of Slade's children.

I think that Felicity being given a bigger role in the show has hurt its quality too. She is not interesting enough and does not have enough depth to justify such a role IMO.

I think Felicity as a whole would be fine if they'd just either break her and Oliver up permanently, or get them together permanently and call it quits. Contrary to popular belief, you can pair two characters off in a show permanently without ruining any dynamics. TV producers are just idiots about it and think that they need a will they/won't they.

The other problem, of course, lies in the sheer over abundance of characters on this show, which needs to be pared down. I wish they'd have left Sarah dead and bumped another Arrow regular over to Legends. We're flooded with characters right now.

At the same time, they have to be careful who they get rid of. If they get rid of Capt. Lance, they've basically removed the last "normal person" the show still has; the entire main cast will be the vigilante team, along with recurring characters like Donna (ugh) and Curtis (who could, eventually, become a superhero himself). I think the one thing I'd do with this show is put a little bit more normalcy in it. S1 and S2 showed the characters' normal lives outside of vigilantism, and it helped that Moira, Thea, Laurel, and Tommy were normal characters who didn't know about Oliver being the Arrow. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled Laurel and Thea are in the roles they are now. But that drops the number of normal characters by half, and Tommy and Moira are dead, too. I don't care that all of the main cast are vigilantes, but at least do us the courtesy of showing us some of their normal lives outside of that–and I don't mean wedding showers and relationship drama.

On a list of the greatest 100 tv shows of all time complied by the Hollywood reporter. Arrow came in at number 90. No other comic adaption was listed probably because everyone else has only one good season under their belt.

Has anyone heard what the plans are for Vixen? Is there talk about Vixen becoming a recurring character on Arrow or part of the LOT cast?

What I've said about the producers not putting enough energies into Flash, the same can be said about Arrow due to Supergirl and Legends.

I can see Vixen recurring or be in Legends, perhaps in their 2nd season.
