I kinda feel like Olicity isn't the only thing that has changed the way action is done. Yes, more relationship drama can interfere with physical action, but keep in mind, after season 2, Oliver was no longer fighting alone consistently, so in a way, those fights need to incorporate both members, or in the case of this season, all four members.

But with that said, the happiest I was this season was the start of the episode after the winter break where Oliver was going on a tear after Felicity got hurt, and was taking down dozens of Ghosts on his own, looking for answers. And story wise, it made sense for the old Oliver, who was willing to kill, to come back because he was in great distress. But I feel like Oliver has kind of lost his balls this season, and it has definitely been a huge point since he's been shown to struggle against enemies on numerous occasions. And it's quite a stark difference when you compare to who he is in the flashbacks, although it's ironic how toned down those are as well.

Since they grew the team, they scaled back on the fight choreography and become very complacent. They do entire scenes with just stunt doubles which makes it kind of boring.

I think he will return to being able to beat opponent again. I think they purposely wrote it this way and the grave trigger his old ways again.

Well the enemies have gotten tougher in response. They don't show Ollie going up against street level criminals like he did the first two seasons.

This doesn't bother me as much as the fact that it's so obvious when they use stunt doubles.

Yep. Remember the days when Ollie could fight a room full of dudes? Now he doesn't shoot arrows and he just spins around in choreography that looks like it was leftovers from Power Rangers/Putty fights.

That's it. I couldn't put my finger on what was off with the fight scenes this season, but that's it: he doesn't shoot arrows as much. Why isn't the Green Arrow shooting arrows?

The format of each episode is the same now.

"Thea, check the crime scene!"
"Laurel, check with the SCPD and your dad!"
"Diggle, check with Lyla and ARGUS!"

*cue Olicity melodrama*

Remember the episode where Laurel and Diggle checked the crime scene and Laurel got in this little snippy argument with the detective on-site and she used her status as DA to get herself onto the scene? That was pretty great.

Oh, and has anyone noticed that Oliver says "John" a lot more than "Diggle" lately? Maybe it's because they introduced Andy this season so using his last name can get a bit awkward, but I just got so used to hearing "Diggle" or "Digg" that something about hearing them say "John" more often sounds...bland, I guess. It's kind of like in LOST when they started saying "Hugo" instead of "Hurley."

There no wrong with the fight scene. he has a team now. he use arrow when it make sense.

The reason Oliver seems weaker in fights now is because he has teammates these days, and they have to give them something to do. If they had Oliver taking out lots of enemies, then people would be complaining and saying that his teammates have nothing to do, or that Oliver doesn't even need his teammates so why does he bring them? The writers are damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

I don't know about you guys, but I found this to be funny. Just the fact that it is so clearly him.

Very reminiscent of his "It was a motorcycle accident, it was...stupid" excuse that he used repeatedly, verbatim. Oliver isn't very good at concealing his identity, but in the funniest possible way–as opposed to Barry, who's just plain bad at it.

ARROW
“Beacon of Hope” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

BRIE LARVAN AKA THE BUG-EYED BANDIT SETS HER SIGHTS ON FELICITY - Brie Larvan breaks out of jail and turns up at Palmer Tech threatening to kill everyone unless she gets the bio-chip that is implanted in Felicity’s spine. When Oliver realizes that Felicity, Thea and Donna are trapped in Palmer Tech with everyone else, he looks to a surprising ally to help Team Arrow save the day.

I'm assuming this is when Curtis finally joins the team.

Really the felicity gate is getting old. It not just her episode. Plus there no olicity at all

Arrow: The Olicity Adventures

Is this the first one back from the break? I'll pass.

I am looking forward to the final stretch of episodes, with H.I.V.E and their plan as the main focus.

well for sure 100% Episode 20 will be where we know the most info on "Genesis" which is also the title It like The Undertaking the plan that is all revealed

Well he more of a ally. I don't think he will join the team as a full time member. he probably be behind a computer for the most part.
He's in the Arrow cave in the last trailer. He will be as much a part of the team as Felicity was in season 1 and 2.

A lot of people are planning to drop the show if Laurel does. I feel differently. Her presence would be missed, but for me is not essential.

But if the "surprising ally" that's referenced in the episode description above is Malcolm, I will drop this show like a heroine addiction.

It Curtis. The Episode 16 promo indicate he will help in some way since think they mash two episode together. Malcolm is not an ally anymore.

I am a big fan of laurel, but in the grand scheme of things, it wont be much, if it were to happen that is. Only Oliver, Felicity or Diggle's death could cause a significant number of people to drop the show, I would say.

The surprise ally is probably Curtis, which means more "quirky" and "adorkable" scenes between him and Felicity. Oh joy!

The thing about Laurel is simply that they're killing off a beloved character. It's the fact that many people are starting to feel like the show is starting to head back in the direction that the second half of last season did, which is why the common joke now is this is a show about "Felicity and Friends". Killing Laurel would feel like adding salt to the wound.

I assume you meant to say "ISN'T simply that they're killing off a beloved character", because while I am a big fan of her, and have been since season 1, I have enough awareness to realize that Laurel is not a beloved character, and that several other characters have gone down better with the audience.

Haha, yeah, that's what I meant. People aren't just leaving because of her.
