the new canary is OBVIOUSLY....

Felicity. :o

:barf:

The whole thing would be hilarious, though.

Felicity Canary won't need any fighting training. She'll just be that good, and she's hung around Ollie, Diggle, Laurel, Sara and Thea for years so has picked up their skills by osmosis. :o

Canaries have been historically used to detect whether the enviroment on a mine or tunnel is toxic (like in that Simpsons episode where they wanna rescue Bart).

Other mining facts include the adoption by workers of the Cornish pasty whose unique shaped ensured its contents could be eaten without the need for cutlery.

If they want to find more canaries, they should visit the Canary Islands! That's where Ollie should've spent 5 years.

I think the reason most got into Sara was because her storyline actually entertained us and we were caught up in seeing a Canary. If Laural wasn't such a chore in season 2 for some of us, then Sara wouldn't have gone over as well as she did I imagine.
You also have to remember, when she first appeared in season 2, she was like the third/fourth costumed character we had seen, behind Oliver, Malcolm, and maybe Billy Wintergreen's Deathstroke costume on the island.

Arrow had just come off of a surprisingly good first season, and it just introduced the second most well-known element of the character's history, so it was pretty cool to see a live action Green Arrow/Black Canary pairing, that was badass in this gritty version.

But like I said, they shot themselves in the foot because the bar was raised so high that there was no way someone like Katie Cassidy, who doesn't have the same athletic background as Amell and Lotz have, would be able to achieve in terms of believably.

Disagree here. Katie Cassidy trained her butt off leading up to Black Canary and still to this date. She is constantly at the gym and is in great shape. If the character wasn't written so poor, and Cassidy was given decent fight sequences instead of the crap they gave her I would most certainly believe her in the role imo. Visually, she looks almost identical in frame and just looks to BC from Young Justice, and BC has been drawn in this frame before in the comics.

Can't blame the actress for their character being written poorly, or just lazily imo and being given incredible crappy fight choreography.

So for those waiting to find out what the promise was, you're going to have to wait until season five, if you even choose to stick around.

I won't disagree with you, Katie absolutely put in the work for the character.

But when I say athletic ability, what I mean is Caity Lotz came into the show with the ability to do things physically that Laurel never did. Like Katie had to prepare herself for the role, while Caity was already prepared. She could already do the Salmon Ladder and fight with a bo staff. That's not to say Katie couldn't have learned, but for Caity, it was believable right away.

But you're right, poor writing and fight scenes, and also the lack of Laurel training scenes, didn't help either.

I'm sure it will be one of the following:

Let me rest in peace

Keep fighting in the light

Dont give up on Felicity

Train Felicity as the new Black Canary

Or put this inscription on my tombstone:

Here lies Felicity Smoak's Dear Friend
Dinah Laurel Lance
Loving daughter, sister

and supporter of Olicity.

Damn I'm glad their names are spelled differently.

If Felicity dresses up as Canary, I'll throw something through my tv.

Now don't break your tv on account of those idiots guggenheim and mericle.

Simply hop on twitter and @ both of them with

F*** YOU

Because if there is one thing that'll make someone try to appease you, it's telling them to **** themselves whenever they do something you don't like.

*walks into thread*
*see's the fight going on and actually likes both laurel and felicity*

*slowly backs out of thread*

That was meant as a joke. But because you have a hair across your ass i'll respond.

Telling those two idiots guggenheim and mericle to go **** themselves is not about trying to get them to appease. It's voicing displeasure of something you didn't like. Everyone should know by now the only people those two idiots are trying to appease are the olicity and felicity fanboy/girls. So may as well trolling them with insults on twitter.

Besides if you offer constructive criticism like, "Action used to be the main focus of the show but teenage like romance is now." Then Guggenheim would just say, "JC, you are just a frustrated L/O shipper."

I don't even ship any of the characters. Is that weird?

Not at all.

In all honesty, I feel like the idea of shipping is something that is heavily popular in younger people, primarily teenage girls, or really obsessed and invested fans.

Do people here write fanfiction? If so, what or who about?

I think writing story outlines and scripts about characters for fun is fan-fiction. I've dabbled in that. Never seen the point of doing an entire piece around a romantic pairing I like that's usually not canon from a movie or show I watch. I think I'd get too attached to the idea of two characters being together if I invested that much time in it.

I once tried to write a fanfic about an Arrow/Hawaii Five-0 crossover, but I never finished it. :oldrazz:
