I enjoyed it. Gives some good backstory to Slade, Blood, and Rochev. Also explains (maybe?) why the son seen in LOT is different than the one Slade mentions in S1. What it doesn't explain is where the LOT kid comes from; Slade has to have had a relationship with some woman off-screen either this season or in the next one or two, given the kid's apparent age 30 years from now (as in, mid-20s or right around 30).

Thanks. Maybe the book was written before they came up with that story for LOT, regarding Grant. I expect this book to be enjoyable and a good read, but I most likely will not consider it canon, even if it is supposed to be. I remember there used to be books that came out during Buffy that were supposed to be canon too, but I don't think they were referenced on the show. I doubt this book will be either. Storylines that they come up with in the future may contradict stuff in this book. I would not be surprised if that happened with the Buffy TV show and the books. That doesn't bother me though. As long as it is a good read, I am happy.

in the book Slade finds Taiana's grave on Lian Yu. Taiana hasn't died as of yet in S4 so the author must've known enough about future events that he'd know Taiana would die, so hypothetically he should've known a bit about LOT too. That's okay, though; the LOT son is different from the one in the book.

Basically there's a reference to an upcoming event in S4 that hasn't happened yet, but the author still apparently knew about.

Yeah the only thing that made not completely blow off Slade's lame reason for revenge is the fact he was on mirakuru. He was seeing hallucinations, so yeah I guess he kinda gets a pass.

Something about S2. Anyone else felt that in episode 22 they were hinting at Sara helping train Laurel, while Laurel inspires Sara to be a hero. Just like they were hinting at Thea joining Malcolm as well. Laurel and Sara share a few scenes that were really well done. They never went back to that, it seemed like they were setting something up between the two of them.


Also, Slade states Thea is 19 years of age a couple episodes back. How does a 19 year old girl run a club serving alcohol. I don't know whats harder to believe, that she's running her own club or that after becoming a business owner at such a young age she's still such a whiny, spoiled brat that turns anything positive anyone says to her into a negative. And there's actually a fan base for this chick?

you can serve alcohol at 18. but yea it's ridiculous... they over play the spoiled brat stuff.

The answer, is that rich people can do whatever they want.

Seriously, these morons will never do anything to make the show good again.
If you're not satisfied with the direction of the show, don't give them any ratings. Just quit the show. If you have the Nielsen box, don't watch the show live. Don't DVR it. Don't watch it from official cw stream site. Spread this word to your family and friends. If you have invested this far in the season, and just want to see how the season ends, just watch it from a 3rd party site.

Off topic, but I just realized that Oliver and Barry's mothers names are very similar. I cannot believe that they did come up with something genius like have that be the reason that they stopped fighting in the crossover last season.

it grieves me that some people takes pride at taking things at face value and are lost as soon as you don't have a ten minutes exposition speech nolan style, to the point that they feel bright to make fun of something that they weren't able to fully understand.

Just because someone does not like the execution of something, does not mean that they didn't get it. I don't think the moment in question in the movie was as bad some people make out, but it was still silly, and required the character to be dumbed down massively for it to have made sense and worked. I still hear lots of different explanations for the effect that mentioning the name was supposed to have had on the character by people who liked the movie, so that suggests that it is not because it was too deep or complicated for people to comprehend, it is just that, like most things in the movie, it was not explained very well or was touched on briefly.

And if people find a movie to be boring, which was one of its main complaints, then they are not going to spend much time re-watching it to pick up the things that they missed on the first viewing so that they can make sense of things that were badly explained, because it is not interesting or entertaining enough to do so. But if people want to believe that the few people that liked the film are the only people that are able to grasp the supposed depths and nuances of the movie that the majority of people are struggling with, they can continue on thinking that.

Of course everyone who has a problem with what is being discussed, or that specific moment in question, must be a massive fan and advocate of Marvel, and wants everything to be done like them. Implies that people are simple and unable to understand something, yet actually has a very simplistic view of things himself. It is kind of funny.

I know it wasn't meant to be completely serious, but I viewed it more as both of your real views and opinions being expressed in a joking manner. Of course, me, being the miserable, humourless and joyless sod that I am, had to respond in a somewhat serious manner . Whenever someone says they do not like something about the movie in question, one of the most common responses is that they must be love Marvel and want everything to be full of jokes. It is a common response, and a lazy one.
