I dunno... it would kind of feel odd without at least one character having a bird-themed code name.
Uhm... Sara? The White Canary?

So Felicity will be this show Chloe Sullivan. A character once fun and adorkable side character now turned into an insufferable self rightous, b###ing and moaning character so perfect in the eyes of the producers that they will force her as much as possible in every damn scenes.
Arrow was once a fun and fresh show compared to the stalling of Smallville which was dragged for so long.... but now Arrow = Smallville in its worst period.
I think the biggest problem with the show is that everyone knows Oliver is the Green Arrow. Yes, the Secrets/Lies trope was something that got old very fast on Smallville, and totally didn't work on Flash earlier this season, but at this point, all we see is Oliver in the "Bunker". There is too much of Oliver as the Arrow, that there is no Oliver as a person.
The mayoral campaign and the stuff with his son provided a great avenue for them to explore Oliver's social side. The side that actually tries to help people without hiding behind a mask, and this season was right on that path, until they decided to make the same damn mistake of last season, and steer the focus completely onto Olicity. Heck, even the first 3 minutes of the last episode were so refreshing to see because Oliver was actually training and he wasn't sulking.
They said last season that Oliver would find his identity, between being Oliver Queen and The Arrow, and it turns out the identity he found was being Felicity's *****.
i could have sworn the was something in olivers hand during the promise/panout scene
I actually heard a nice theory, where season 5 starts off with Oliver alone. Felicity is gone, Diggle is still upset about Andy and feels responsible, and Malcolm kidnaps Thea.Alrighty, Buckles is gone. And I hope it stays this way. No resurrection, time travel shenanigans, or bringing her over from Earth-2. Not only because I dislike the character, but because they wouldn't be able to do the character justice. And you all know it's true. Even Sara, who many liked and preferred over Laurel, wasn't safe from the relationship drama. And with Olicity in full swing, no other secondary female will get any attention.
Maybe they should also remove Thea, so we're back to the original Team Arrow. I still want that Birds of Prey spin-off with Sara, Thea, Katana and Vixen.
Marc Guggenheim and his people have spoken. The people who tuned week in and week out, who's loyalty is responsible for spin-offs The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, the core fans who got their show renewed means nothing to them. They don't care about these characters or the source material. So there's no reason to support this show. If Flash wasn't such a good show I'd drop that too. And if Guggenheim keeps visiting the LOT sets I'm dropping that too.
I'm dropping Arrow after this season finale (may as well see the end at this point, and Darhk while overused has been a well acted villain).
Flash I'm sticking with although I do fear for season 3 as that's where Arrow started running out of ideas.
Legends is fun for now too.
I might potentially look up Supergirl once the full season is available to fill the void from Arrow.
I was actually thinking the same thing...it seems pretty entertaining and Arrow is getting too big for its own good. Seems like every week theres another person wearing leather
Yeah I wasn't interested in it at all because I assumed it was going to be basically what Arrow is now. And that was fine, because it never claimed to be anything else.
I watched the one episode with the flash crossover, and while it's clearly romantic and melodramatic, it seemed to have a lighter tone and I was quite impressed. I'm thinking it's worth binging through the episodes.. can always quit if it's not good.

Season 3 would have been fine if the olicity pandering didn't happen. Just like this season would have been too but felicity/olicity has to take center stage.
It has ruined the show. No surprise that this episode up until the death was one of the better episodes of the last 2 seasons and why was that? There was no felicity until the end.
