Arrow Arrow General Discussion Thread - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 28

what's the budget on all of these CW shows? I imagine a show like Arrow must have high cast salaries due to being on air for 6 years while The Flash is heavy special effects.
Still smaller than other networks and premiums. Between $2-3mil per ep (it started well under $2mil per ep, so it's definitely gone up). For comparison, Gotham costs about $4mil per ep, Once Upon a Time was around $4.5mil, last I checked. Supergirl started with a $3mil per episode budget on CBS, but took a budget cut when moving to the CW. Game of Thrones ranges from $10-20mil an episode, depending on what's going down that episode, lmao.

Yeah Arrow costs the least to produce out of all the Arrowverse shows. Even with the recent raises it probably is still cheaper.

I'm kinda surprised Gotham isn't higher.

Supergirl was on 3 million prior to the CW? I'd have guessed the budget would be 3 million now and 4-5 million in season 1.

Yep.

But to be fair, its pilot was reportedly $14mil (same as Agents of Shield's), which is where they make the sets, costumes, etc., so that might be why it looked so much more expensive in S1. I believe all that stuff (minus THE costume) had to be re-done in Vancouver for S2.

Also, Gotham gets to put more of their money on the screen since they get a MASSIVE tax break filming in NYC. S2 got a $24.5mil tax incentive, which was the largest on record for a TV show at the time.

I'm actually kinda interested in this season with the prison stuff. Can't remember the last time I could say that about this show.

I was kinda looking forward to the new season, with the prison arc and stuff, but then I read Ricardo Diaz is now a regular....

Ricardo Diaz is now a series regular... that sucks because he's such a one dimensional character and I could never take him seriously as a major threat to Oliver.

 Oh jeez. One step forward, two steps back. That guy is such a bore.

At least they can hopefully turn him into a useful villain since they seem to be doing a reboot of the character.

I came in to say how impressed I am by the trailers for this season.

Then I read this.

One hand giveth... one hand dumps a crappy villain on you.

Ricardo Diaz is one of the most boring and uncharismatic villains that Arrow ever had. Even Damien Darhk was more entertaining than Diaz and he sucked as a villain. I have no idea why the writers like Diaz so much, I wish Oliver killed him in the series 6 finale.

But I'm looking forward to the prison stuff though.

Ugh. Why do we need to see more of him? I thought they were done with his storyline. He is definitely a real bore. Both as an actor and as a character. I thought they would be done with him and we'd have someone fresh. He immediately gives it the stench of stale air.

I am not even looking forward to the new season all that much.

Kirk Acevado was one of the best things about 12 Monkeys.

Also, based on the new poster for the crossover, I am extremely excited for Amell to have some fun.

This is giving me a headache lol

706-710 episode titles. 7x10 reveals a big spoiler

That spoiler, HOLY FRICK. :wow:

Are we assuming that she is in the flash-forwards and is Oliver and Felicity's daughter, or are we thinking she's present day Green Arrow. If she is present day GA, how does she exist? She can't be Shado's daughter like in the comics, right? It's impossible. Because she died before she could've carried Oliver's child to term and she certainly was never with Robert.

Or...is Emiko Queen the daughter of Robert and Isabel Rochev? Perhaps Rochev never told anyone she had a child with Robert, and gave her up for adoption on birth with only her name? Nah, that's stupid. I'm just brainstorming.

Gosh, I'm so excited. This season looks to be potentially freaking amazing.

And my guess is whoever the Green Arrow is, whether Emiko or someone else, they will be unmasked in Ep. 8, since the title is "Unmasked." :hehe:

Also, apparently one of the showrunners confirmed that the flash-forwards would continue until the show itself ends. So that's pretty cool; I'm actually excited for that.

Well she is 100% not Olicitys daughter lol. That will most likely goes to the Maya character since David did spoil that Felicity is pregnant and it looks like itll be at the end of the season/flashfoward. They cast an Asian actress for Emiko so she is either Roberts offspring with some random. Which also means that she is most likely the new Green Arrow....

Wow. That's freaking crazy!

I'm not too hot on flash forwards, simply because events must tie up, and we know (or at least heavily suspect) that between now and then (that's gotta be a good ten years) Ollie and William are out of contact. After everything they've both gone through, that seems a bit harsh.

I can't quite see Felicity still being alive and well in the future either. I suspect someone is going to take her out.

Wow that’s so dope. This crossover is going to be crazy.
