I laughed when Merlyn Jnr. said "Why so serious" to Ollie.

Felicity should've shown up in a french maid outfit at Merlyn's company, and if she got caught by the security guard she could've said "oops..." :p

Man Meryln Totally owned Oliver. Oliver needs a new martial arts teacher

I'm alright with there being some characters being stronger fighters than the protagonist. I don't know, I guess it makes it that much victorious when the hero wins against them.

Isn't Laurel more like Rachel Dawes though?

And everytime I see it written Ollie and Laurel I think of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. :hehe:

Why has Sean Connery come into this?

Laurel makes Rachel look like an exciting character, lol. I feel like time is slower whenever she's on screen; I don't know whether or not its the character or the actress, but they just drag on.

i agree i dont like laurel at all she really drags the show down she is so bland, generic, and very soap opera character

I think they should've waited to introduce the Dinah Lance character just like they did with Lois Lane in Smallville. That way they could've seen how the other characters play out and could've then cast an appropriate actress who has good chemistry and could bring a spark of life to the show.

The problem with Katie Cassidy is that Stephen Amell is already kind of playing the straight man and so you need more of a funny man (or woman) to have that chemistry and have someone play off and poke fun at him. Now Katie Cassidy, with her personality and the way her character is written, also plays the straight man (or woman in her case). So you're having two people filling that role when they're together. That's how it was with Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk.

On the other hand, Emily Bett Rickards plays more of the funny woman, in a similar way to how Erica Durance did in terms of the way she interacted with Clark. That's what makes it more interesting with Ollie and Felicity.

So unless they're going to radically change Laurel's personality now, they're kind of stuck with two straights.

Maybe they can pull a Smallville like they did with Jimmy Olsen and say that Laurel isn't the real Dinah Lance who becomes Black Canary. Maybe her sister Sarah (whom Ollie had an affair with) becomes Dinah (if she's still alive). It would be a stretch (just like it was to believe that Jimmy Olsen had a brother who also had the name Jimmy in there somewhere and grew up to look just like Aaron Ashmore as well) but it's also a bit of a stretch to believe Laurel will become the Canary.

I guess that's why Felicity is so fantastic. She balances out Ollie's seriousness, with her quirks, fun lines and personality.

thing is i like katie cassidy alot especially her work in supernatural

her playing a stone faced uncharismatic character is not doing her any favors

Oh my god, that's actually the same person playing Laurel?

If her father dies, and supposedly pushes her over the edge to become Black Canary, she's not going to lighten up at all. She'll become even more serious. She should've just been written differently from the start, not been a lawyer or the daughter of a police detective. They could still have had Det Lance (named something different) to chase Ollie, but waited to introduce Dinah.

And for the same reasons I've given above of having two serious people together, that's why I think Felicity would work much better as Ollie's sidekick than either Roy or Thea. Roy is deadly serious and moody, and Thea isn't exactly a barrel of laughs.

In fact, come to think of it, they're all serious on this show apart from Felicity.

She needs to be the love interest, the sidekick, heck, make her a villain too down the line. But keep her quirkiness. :o

It took Ollie 5yrs to become Arrow I expect nothing less out of Laurel and even in the comics Dinah's father is a cop.

There could be an overcrowded mix of heroes if they're not careful. I hope they get the juggling act sorted out if Laurel becomes BC and Roy becomes Speedy or some other variant.

I think if Laurel does become Black Canary she'll start as some kind of student then venture out on her own away from Ollie and work together occasionally.

I feel kind of ashamed for slightly crying over a CW show but damn it. That was painful.

Very well acted episode tonight, btw.

Holy crap, that's the same person?!

Yea that was one bad ass finale... Some good performances as well. Its not every day a show knocks the finale out of the park.

Great finale that felt like a feature film. Let's see if we can watch the pilot, Darkness On The Edge of Town, and Sacrifice altogether to see if it feels like a Green Arrow feature film.

For the Huntress, try watching Muse of Fire, Vendetta, and Huntress Returns together like a movie.

I was getting all misty eyed myself that was sad

Loved the finale. Only wished they showed Slade in Starling City as Deathstroke, but the episode was more about ending this season than teasing the next, so they could only fit so much in...

I am sorry but....... HOLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE **&&^%$## THAT WAS COOOL!! THAT WAS *&^^ING AWESOME!!!

I totally dug Roy stepping up to the plate like an "ARSENAL" BABY!! That was coooooll! sniff sniff ... I love this show!:woot:

Same here. I can only recount one other time CW made me cry - Season 5 of SV with everything concerning Jonathan Kent. Here, there was a lot to lose - a childhood best friend. Still reeling from it.
