If Batman somehow wound up on the show even in a cameo, he'd probably be known as the Cape.

One thing is showing Hal Jordan sans ring, but showing Green Lantern would contradict their no superpowers, superheroes and aliens approach

They could always break their own rules

If Hal was in the show,it'll probably done "John Blake" style.

Hal would be a mechanic named Rod,working for the Queens. After he gives Moira the bill, she'll say "You should use your real name,'Hal',I like that better."Then,he'll go off and join Ferris.:oldrazz:

When Laurel finally becomes Black Canary, she'll be known as The Fishnets.

Or by Det. Lance she'll be known as "The Daughter."

If he lives to see it... :o

Anyone get the feeling that the vigilante will get an official name by the end of this season? If that is the case, it will probably be Arrow or Green Arrow.

I always got the feeling that Malcolm referring to him as Green Arrow in episode 9 was some sort of foreshadowing that he will adopt that name. We already know from the same episodes that Oliver hates being called "the hood guy".

I hope so. You'd think the damn newspaper would have already come up with a flashy name. But no, all we have is the hood and the vigilante.

I think the producers think that it is realistic for him to not be given a name. I never understood that. Humans are generally drawn to giving names to everything. If a vigilante like Green Arrow or Batman all of a sudden showed up in real life, I'd bet that he would be given a name by the media. Maybe not an exact comic booky name but he would at least more of a comic book name such as "The Archer" or something. Just look at the mysterious serial killer that operated in the late 1960's and early 70's that was named "The Zodiac" by the media.

Also, I always found it funny how the Nolan Batman movies gave names to all the villains other than Catwoman despite being very realistic while the MCU movies are the exact opposite of that and never gave names to a lot of their characters.

How would the media come up with the same "Green Arrow" name that Merlyn did, unless he used it in a press statement or something and they adopted it? It's more likely they'd come up with something else. Also, didn't Ollie dislike the "Green Arrow" name when he first heard it, calling it "lame"?

But "the Hood" is lame.

What else was he supposed to say though? You can't have him say "I love that" because then people would question why doesn't he just adopt it or at least refer to himself as that instead of "the Hood". I got the feeling that Oliver calling it lame was the same thing as Felicity saying that she will only work with him until they get Walter back, only to later be announced as a regular for season 2.

I don't think it would be hard for the media to come up with the name. The guy shoots green arrows all over the city lol. I wouldn't be surprised if they get the name from Malcolm though in some sort of way. Regardless, the media in real life would still come up with a more comic booky name for him than "the Hood".

He could've said lots of other responses like "that's an interesting one" or he could've even engaged in a dialogue like other people might and talked about the merits of people having a name and how people like to name things, even like in your post above mine.

And he'll be taking a name (or assigned a name) given to him by his enemy - too fun. Not sure how he'll fell about that.

Oh wow that was an amazing episode.

That fight with Merlyn and Ollie was perfect, Merlyn catching the arrow was just wow.

Next week looks amazing. So can't wait.

Man Meryln Totally owned Oliver. Oliver needs a new martial arts teacher

Merlyn was badass

But the Oliver + Laurel scene toward the end....bleh

Tommy looks PISSED!

I'd be pretty pissed too if my d***head best friend told me 'be with Laurel' then he seems them about to bang.

So I guess the 3rd fight with Merlyn will be the charm :hehe:

I agree that there's no point in bringing in Hal Jordan if GL isn't going to show up.
I'd rather they stick with the no superpowers rule and bring in non-powered characters in addition to Huntress like Katana, Question, Wildcat, etc.
