Is anyone worried that super powers might turn people off the show?
It's like my Uncle watches it cause he likes the story but if dude lay there's super powered people in costumes running around I could see him turning off from it.
I am concerned about the integrity of the show. But on the other hand I'm excited to see the Flash.
Unless it's Oliver that gets arrested and sent to Super Max on trumped up charges, it not being known that he is Green Arrow so there will be no murder chargesTherein lies the rub. This version of Green Arrow has murdered people, and it's been premeditated murder at that. So any reason for him to be in prison is, frankly justified.
This show is too unrealistic.
I agree. It's a very valid concern. Some might get turned off by the new genre and setting. Others might view it as and get turned off by its bait-and-switch tactic. These are just some of the more obvious problems with attempting a Genre Shift to the show, by introducing The Flash and changing the show's setting.
I don't know why they don't just do a Flash show separate and down the line of they felt it was right cross the two over. Also by crossing them over maybe you have had Ollie appear on the Flash show so you don't have to break certain rules on Ollie's show.
It's because starting a new show and generating a fanbase for it from scratch is both, very risky and expensive. It's much safer to do a spin-off by tapping the fanbase of the existing series.
Plus, the episodes the character is featured in would be a way to gauge audience interest in the spin-off show without having to first greenlight a half season's worth of episodes for production. As such, it saves a lot of money.
I would love for the show to deviate into the cancelled Super Max movie storyline for a full season or two.
Yeah I think it could really cause some problems.
Also I don't want a Smallville sit auction where he's tied into nearly everyone's origin. The Flash shouldn't get his super powers in Star City. I don't know why they don't just do a Flash show separate and down the line of they felt it was right cross the two over. Also by crossing them over maybe you have had Ollie appear on the Flash show so you don't have to break certain rules on Ollie's show.
Oh I know it is and I get showing him in this show first etc but with the Flash spearheading a brand new show, whilst he isn't as well known as Superman or Batman I think he's well known enough to have a show start from scratch.
This to me just goes along with WBs cautious approach to everything, they're afraid to dive in and take a risk with these DC properties.
On the other hand, they did take a risk by giving the go-ahead for Arrow.
