Speedy has comically small feet in this poster.

And Slade looks like a Boxer getting ready for a fight.

Well I'm disappointed they didn't cast Matt Barr from the list but I have seen zero acting from Grant Gustin and will definitely give him a chance.

Weird choice, he has a real *****e vibe about him that works perfectly on Glee because...well.... he plays a *****e.

Interested to see if he can bring something different to the table but at his age it's very hard to see how Barry is gonna come off as an equal to Ollie.

Did Ben Whishaw come off as an equal to Daniel Craig in Skyfall, despite being much younger? I thought so, it's all in the performance. What exactly did Amell do before Arrow, nothing that really screams "I'm a badass?"

Before he gets his powers Barry Allen will not be Oliver's equal. After he does he may well be his superior. Which is something that does concern me about introducing the Flash.

No, he came off like an overly smug private schoolboy that got put in his place, and then once he realized his place he became the awkwardly talented sidekick.

No, he came off a as brilliant, if somewhat egotistical, scientist. He got fooled once, that doesn't equal "put in his place." The point is, I had no trouble buying him as Q, despite his age. This guy COULD be the same as Barry.

Q is a different animal to The Flash. Q is mission support, same as what Felicity is to Green Arrow or Alfred is to Bruce.

He was put in his place by Bond in their first meeting, he is not on Bond's level and he realized that as the film went on, and that is fine as he's tech support, nothing more. Barry Allen is a character who is supposed to Ollie's equal as a man and hero who will spin-off into his own show.

No, he wasn't put in his place. They had a back and forth with both getting in jabs, you and I saw that scene very differently. Anyway, lets not turn this into a Skyfall debate, my point still stands. If the performance is good, then people will overlook the age thing.

Regardless of how we saw the scene in Skyfall the point is equals, Q is never meant to be Bond's equal and doesn't come off as such, Amell looks like an adult man, the guy playing Allen looks much more like a college kid, no matter how well he acts, visually I'm not convinced they will come off as equals.

Maybe they're not supposed to. It's possible they wanted to provide obvious contrast. I don't think Barry will be as dark or as serious as Oliver. I think he'll be more lighthearted and more optimistic. If that is their intention, then it makes sense that they went with someone more fresh-faced than Amell.

Even if I'm wrong...eh. Doesn't bother me.

I'm hoping they change their mind and decide Wally is the Flash they'd use!

Oh, I didn't mean to say that I preferred Wally over Barry, just that seeing a guy who barely looks twenty being cast for Barry makes me a little sick.

I can't believe anyone even thought they'd go older. Its a CW show and whether we like it or not they like their leads to be good looking and young. I think people really need to give Grant a chance he may just surpise us.

i think fans just expected him to be older and to be far amell is 32 and looks like a grown man

As pointed out Amell is 32 and both the brothers in Supernatural are over 30, in the CW's other shows like Nikita and Hart of Dixie all the guys are over 30 bar 1 and the male lead in their Beauty & the Beast is 32.

Yeah but most of them don't look it. Tbh the producers have obviously seen something in Gustin that we haven't yet so let's just wait and see.

They all look like grown men of 30 to me, them being good looking guys doesn't mean they look younger and 30 isn't old anyway. I'm perfectly willing to give Gustin a chance, I am just saying I've seen him act and he looks young and has a *****e vibe, so the casting surprised me.
