Well, in Marvel's case with their SHIELD series, its a show that was created after Marvel had established their Cinematic universe, with the show's premise coming off of the events from "The Avengers".
It's not the same case with "Arrow", and truth be told, I'm very skeptical still on how they're going to make "powers" work within this show since they've gone about establishing so well that this is a world where the supernatural/sci-fi powers don't exist.
Plus, it's hard to imagine a canon world where you can have guys like the Flash and Green Arrow running around, and even have Ra's Al Ghul referenced (since the show's creators confirmed that within their mind, it was Ra's who trained Malcom), but they can't have Superman or Batman (two of DC's biggest heroes) appear on the show as far as we know of.
Well if the film is done right, it could continue Superman's story while introducing Batman in a way where he gets the right amount of exposure that allows people to become curious in wanting to see more of this new take in Batman without the character overstaying his welcome due to how recent Nolan's film concluded and how they wouldn't have to wait as long as the Justice League film to be made in order to introduce a new Batman.
