Brad Meltzer Easter Egg

Brad Meltzer - Thea is shown reading the novel Book of Lies by Brad Meltzer. Meltzer is a novelist and comic book writer, and has written several high-profile books for DC, including Identity Crisis, a six issue run on Green Arrow and a 12 issue run on Justice League of America (which heavily features Roy Harper.) A large portion of Book of Lies' plot features a connection between Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's creation of Superman and the Cain and Abel myth. Part of the book also takes place in the Siegel House, the childhood home of Superman creator Jerry Siegel in Cleveland, OH. The Siegel house was where Superman was allegedly conceived by Siegel back in 1932.

You may not want Roy and Thea back together but I do. As do my nephews.

Dude I am with you... Thumbs up for Roy and Thea relationship... And I love Thea a lot too...
I don't want Laurel to die,but should she be the Canary ?? In the comic she has been portrayed like a witch I guess... So maybe I don't know...But it suits her... But the truth is...I guess eventually Lance is gonna die...
Is anyone on for a Tommy return? I know it sounds crazy but talking about bringing some one from the dead...I am on for Tommy...

Why should they kill her now, when she's more interesting than she's ever been? If anyone is dying this season, it's Quentin, Malcolm, or Thea.

They were a boring couple. The actors have little to no chemistry and their storylines were unimportant at best. I think it would be better to keep them separated.

Because if a main character has to be killed off. I'd rather it be a character I don't like, all 3 of the above you mentioned are characters I like, a lot more than I like Laurel.

Anyone else hope that Tatsu and Maseo will move locations? Because after managing to escape from China White and her Triad, I found it silly that they went straight back to their home. Get the kid and get out. If the kid dies because they didn't move to another safe location, I'm really going to hate the writers this season.

They're both much more interesting characters now that their storylines don't completely revolve around each other.

It does seem the writers lost their common sense skill this season...

True first they kill off Sara and have Laurel become the Canary when we already had a perfect Canary. Not to mention everything else wrong with season 3 so far.

The directors need to mask the city more for Flash folks, and so forth.

You could see 'Star Labs' behind the Brick/Mayor meeting along the river, and they showed the 'corner' building overhead shot that Flash uses a lot. The two cities are overlapping too much already...

4/10. I found Laurel slightly less irritating last week so some small part of me thought maybe they might be on the right road here but nope, this episode just brought her right back to unbearable to me. And still annoyed with how poorly this death arc has been handled.

I'm starting to get the feeling....Captain Lance is indeed going to die shortly after he learns the truth. They seem to be making an awfully big deal over "That which he must not know". If he finds out and takes it like a trooper,it's a huge anticlimax. If he finds out then dies, they spared him several months of life . I can't see it being the former. Not after this big buildup.

The former would be a horrible idea....which this season means it's likely. :o

Didn't they use the same coffee shop even the same week?

My only issues with this season so far is clumsy pacing and unclear threats early on. Otherwise, the positives outweigh the negatives.
Ray has been a welcome breath of fresh air.
Roy and Diggle getting the spotlight has been fun.
Brick is turning out great.
Laurel's struggle to A.)deal with the inevitable death of Sara and B.)turn it into a path toward the Canary is nice to see as opposed to off screen training and "She's a martial artist now"
The action as per usual is fantastic.
Flash crossover
Boomerang set up in prison with Slade
Ras showing how flat out scarily skilled he is against Oliver.

I'm not saying it's been perfect. The writers could've paced all of this better and it would make certain plots not seem like they're stalling. But I fully believe they're going somewhere with this all and I've been enjoying it more than not.

Yea Ra's Al Guhl was definitely a looming threat in this episode. I mean with Maseo, Oliver and now the *****ey DJ I feel like things are really starting to get into motion.

To be honest, I've been enjoying Flash a bit more, especially with the Wells mystery, but overall, I care more about the characters in Arrow. The Flash is the show I enjoy while I'm watching it, but Arrow is the show I look forward to. Like I really can't wait to see what happens next.

This was a the best episode of the season since the premiere. I can't wait to see how Laurel evolves from the rookie of tonight's episode into even a better fighter than Oliver.

Which is fair, but I think Laurel has a lot more to offer at this point than any of the others, not least of all because she actually has something to do. Malcolm and Thea have been especially wasted this season. Connecting those two characters is shaping up to be one of the worst decisions the writers have ever made.

Which isn't saying much, but progress is progress. I'm happy to say I wasn't bored by Roy this episode.

Much to my chagrin.

I enjoy Arrow mediocrity more than Flash mediocrity.

I hope when Lance finally finds out the truth, he vows never to speak to Laurel again.

I would react that way in his place.

Do you really think Quentin will never speak to his daughter again because she tried to protect him from a potential fatal heart attack? He will understand and forgive her like any decent parent that loves his children would, only a vindictive person would hate his children forever for something like that.

Do you hate Team Arrow too for helping Laurel with the lie?

Speaking of weak links, many feel Roy with his lack of lines and bad acting this season and Thea, who hasn't done that much so far, are worse. Laurel right now is more interesting than both, as a lawyer and the Black Canary.

Moving on, Amell told the truth, no Lazarus Pit for Oliver, some should let it go, the damage is done! It is awful and lazy writing, but lets not forget these writers have done several poor choices already, like making the Huntress a cop killer (Season 1), Slade hating Oliver because of Shado, wasted Summer Glau as Isabel Rochev, etc.

Now they have ruined Ra's Al Ghul by making him incompetent, he can't kill Oliver but a brainwashed Thea can kill Sara, yeah, whatever Arrow! :whatever:

Despite the flaws, the episode was good thanks to Brick and the interaction between the characters, specially Laurel and Felicity, and Laurel, Roy and Diggle. Who would've thought that Brick was going to be a better villain than Ra's Al Ghul? Unlike Matt Nable, Vinnie Jones is believable as a villain and really intimidating. This is another example of how inconsistent this season has been, we have seen more and better stuff with Brick in just two episodes than Ra's this whole season, even Maseo is more interesting than Ra's! Speaking of Maseo, it seems he's going to die, this could make Katana go after the LOA, and if she comes to Starling with Oliver, she could train Laurel, so she becomes a good fighter by the start of Season 4.

Where in the world is Nanda Parbat?
Nowhere your travel app can find, that's for sure. Maseo drops a mention of this mysterious place tonight, and sharp-eared listeners will know this isn’t the first time it’s been talked about. In fact, we know that Malcolm Merlyn received training there because he told us himself. So did Sarah Lance. And that training came from the League of Assassins and Ra’s al Ghul. But there’s more to this land than that. It’s been a part of the DC Comics world since Strange Adventures #205 from 1967.

What’s new (52) about Black Canary’s costume?
Sara Lance’s costume was very similar to the original Black Canary’s. But Laurel’s is really inspired by the full-leather suit redesign that appeared with the launch of the New 52! Talk about making it work.

To anyone how ever played City of Heroes, don't you think that Laurel-Canary looks like an Eidolon ( the npc in tight black leather and straps ) ?

They need to add some color

I don't know much about the character, I just had the thought about CoH seeing her in this episode. I don't mind her suit at all ( Sara's was better but so is Loitz ).
