I'm glad at what has happened to Scott. When they did it to Bishop, nobody cared but me. Glad it's affecting most people's fave now.

Bishop was worse. Scott's downfall has been brewing for quite some time and has been more character driven. Plus he's had the PF to amplify his emotions and actions. Bishop? His turn made little sense, happened out of nowhere and was purely a plot device. I'm more satisfied with how things went down with Scott than Bishop would got tossed aside and forgotten when all was done

Bishop becoming evil was pretty ******ed. I guess they couldn't come up with anybody else to use for that role in Messiah Complex and the Cable solo title.

I'm not happy about what's happened to Scott, I'm kinda saddened.

if Scott has become Magneto...who the hell is the new Professor X type figure?

Xavier's death does make the new Legacy book featuring Legion a tad bit more interesting.

And I agree... Bishop's decent was rediculous.

It makes it even less interesting to me. I don't see the point of a Legion book without Xavier or Magneto. What's Legion gonna do? Wander around an lament on his relationship with his dead dad? :down

He doesnt have Xavier to ground him and act as a crutch. Watching him trying to function and be his own person with Xavier's legacy as a backdrop is an interesting and new concept for him. He's only ever been defined by his relationship with Xavier. This is a chance to have him break out on his own

I've never really cared that much for Legion I guess. He's always just kinda been there...

well thats true. He's never really had a definitive story yet. He's mainly been used as a plot device for bigger events (Muir Island Saga, AoA, AoX) but was never really the focus of any of those. I thought they were finally gonna do some stuff with him when he was brought back in New Mutants but outside that first arc, he was thrown back on the backburner. I think he will finally get that much needed characterization he's lacked

My reaction in one word? Apathetic. We know "death" is not death in comics, just a long vacation, and many people disliked Cyclops before Avengers vs. X-Men. If they really want these two out of the spotlight, there were better ways than this.

It's not a problem exclusive to the X-Men or Marvel, either; many event comics use these "never the same" moments. Someone usually dies, it's usually gory (not here, thankfully), and I'm always left cold. I'm not sure if this is a sign that I should stop reading superhero comics. It's not like they've ever been above melodrama, and I still have fun with the ones I do read. But the more they try to shock me, the less I care. Is it really impossible to do good stories anymore without stuff like this?

I'm not shocked by superhero deaths either. It seems like a weak gimmick comic writers have fallen into. I wish they would be more creative and come up with different ways to create drama.

I'm more shocked by the way he dies. As in, the murderer.

I know Stan Lee probably doesn't keep up with all the storylines as of late but I'm sure he's heard about this and probably doesn't like it, even if he would never openly say it. Cyclops basically killed the man that raised him as a son, you don't really come back from that.

Stan likes anything that will put money in his pocket. :o

It's not like he's getting paid for AvX, though. There ain't no royalties when your characters are owned by the publisher.

I think it's crazy how much things are going to change for the X-men. I've been reading X-titles since Grant Morrison, so I've always read about Cyclops and Emma. They were the power couple in the X-books and they were everywhere. No matter what happens in #12 they will both be playing completely different roles, and I doubt they'll even be together anymore. I guess change is good, so hopefully the new leadership of the X-men consists of more than just Wolverine.

this whole event has kinda felt like a f-u to X-men fans. It made the X-men look like a inexperinced team compared to the Avengers and the fact Cyclops did what he did seems like a way of saying the Avengers where right and the X-men where wrong. They dont feel like equal teams which is sad cause the X-men are just as experinced as the avengers. The fact that at the end of it , Wolverine is the voice of reason is kinda a slap in the face to alot of X-men fans and just seems to be a move made to the new comic fans who can only really name wolverine when they think of X-men.

The meme "Wolverine is always right" exists for a reason.

To be honest you started reading the X-men during a big change. Scott and Jean were the power couple before that.

I'm kinda sad about that since I love Jean every time I'm exposed to her. But I actually thought that they'd keep Scott and Emma together for as long as Scott and Jean. I'm not particularly sad about their potential breakup... It'll just be weird not seeing them together.

Kinda looks like Storm is going to take a more active leader role after this is all done, as she's joining the Jean Grey school
Plus Havok will be leading the uncanny Avengers
So Wolverine isn't the only mutant figurehead left.
Aannd we still don't know where exactly Magneto's gunna end up.

I'd like to see magneto step up and lead an x-team. He certainly has history with them, and he's very experienced. And he was close to Charles Xavier. What a character arc that'd be. From arch nemesis to one of the leaders
