If he's not joking, he probably means the original, which is a damn good movie and I understand why it'd be an all-time favorite.
Although the Nic Cage remake is also a fantastic comedy.
So I hope this puts to rest anyone thinking Batman dies. The fact that he's even open to it means Batman isn't going to die

Yeah, I forgot for a moment that there was an original.
The Nic Cage film was horrible... It wasn't even a comedy. You know these days when you see a movie so good that you can't stop thinking about? It's just... You feel happy for a day or two. Sometimes you don't even realize it was the movie. You find that out later.
The Nic Cage film was exactly the opposite for me... I regretted it so much. I just felt bad the whole day after.
I'm usually a very open-minded person, I often like even bad films, I'm trying to see the good things about them... But man, Wicker man was one of my worst movie experiences of all time.
No where near Dragonball: Evolution though... I wanted to commit suicide after seeing it. It was a painful torture.

A big agreed. Superman does have interesting contrasts to Batman but I prefer "my" Batman to be the only hero that exists in his universe, especially with the Nolanverse. Like, if super powered beings existed they would clean a situation up in no time. But they don't, so we have to resort to grit. The best thing for the franchise after TDKR is a reboot.Superman in Nolan's Batverse leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Aside from Nolan not wanting to do one, this whole thing/arc really seems structured to come to and end by the third film. I think we should appreciate that for its own completeness...and really the rarity of something like this actually coming to an end satisfyingly...instead of lamenting why it's not more like an ongoing serial or what have you. Also, we'll always be able to look back and celebrate this as an era that ended (hopefully) tidily on its own terms. If there were to be a 4th one (and why not?) I would want the villians to be 'The Riddler' as the main villian threat (ala Scarecrow, Joker) and 'The Penguin' as the mob type threat (ala Falcone, Maroni)

Continued sequels don't really bother me, I like having a long running series that builds 'the world' of the series and even if the later sequels are **** (ie forever, batman and robin) it doesn't stop the originals from being amazing and they might pull it off. 4 amazing movies is better than 3 amazing movies.

Yes. I so want them to skip the origin and just go right in to a Batman established.
