Ghost Rider & FF and Blade were all basically unknowns to the general audience out there and most of the kids out there until the movie promo's started rolling out. It's an even playing field for all 3 though Blade is an R rated series, and the other two are completely different in tone and potential appeal.

That stupid movie Norbit is gonna make 25-30 million on a non-holiday weekend. Not bad for a movie that's a long running fat joke.

The movie I'd be more worried about is Bridge to Tarabithia because kids are gonna flock to see that.

Norbit made 33.7 million estimate on a non-holiday weekend. Ghost Rider is gonna blow through Daredevil's record...or at least it should. Tarabithia doesn't seem to have the backbone of Narnia or the following...not even close. I'm sure kids will wanna go see that but I think any boys over 10 years old would prefer to see Ghost Rider just based on the trailers. Bridge will have somewhat of an effect as competition every weekend does...the question is how much. Can Ghost Rider break 60 million over those 4 days???

I think 40 million is more likely.

If Norbit can hit 33.7 million in 3 days on a non-holiday weekend I see no reason why Ghost Rider won't bust through 40 million in the same 3 days...easily. This was a horrible weekend at the movies.

You have more faith then the producers of the movie themselves. "Aquinnah" voted between 40-50 million in the above poll.

I hope you're right but bouncing around the net trying to promote this film, I noticed a lot of people taking joy in trying to promote a negative buzz. The Rottentomatoes General Movie Forum has a ton of traffic and I post there semi-often.

I usually have a good gage on box office but I have no feel for Ghost Rider. All I know for sure is that I'm doing my part on Friday and then again on Saturday.

for the 3 day, 30 million is likely, with high 30's for the 4 day. final predicts this thursday!

That's the ticket. That's all anyone can do really; go see it... and if you're not interested, don't. Simple as that.

It's cool that Gary voted in the poll though....

tracking has increased tolow forties. personally i think it looks sick, i see the film wednesday barring the blizzard were suiposed to get, so i would be happy to see it do well, even if it means losing to advanced dark.

^ Excel I honeslty don't care if you win or I lose or I win or whatever. It was just two people making their best educated guess. I just look at Norbit and Daredevil's #'s, and then think of all the people dying to see Spiderman 3 and cant' wait, and the new trailers attached, etc...It's gonna have a solid opening weekend. Where are you getting these tracking #'s from? Are you talking low 40's for a 3 or 4 day total. 4 days it should be well over 50 million if not 60.

please, weather, clear up! argh...

I live in the Detroit area as well but these 8" won't effect anything. I'm glad this massive snow storm is hitting the Midwest now instead of three days from now. I just heard Ohio is expecting two FEET of snow by tomorrow. Now that would take a bite out of any box office if it hit on the weekend. What's the forecast for the East coast on Friday? Any new storm sitting behind this one?

^ That's what happened to Daredevil where the film was tracking higher and actually brought in less than New Regency & Fox expected. They were looking for about 50 million. The storm then was massive and have an effect.

GR is going to crush the competition this weekend. I'm expecting atleast 40M for the 3 weekend days.

Im rather pissed off now. GR isn't even coming out where I live. Insted we're getting 10 showings of Tyler parrys new movie. :( I want GR.

WTF?

I thought Ghost Rider was playing everywhere.

But yeah, we're going to kill Perry come this weekend.

I'm so exicted :D

^bwahahhhhahaha ghost riders screen counts enormous compared to tyler perry....

I was at times worried about "Bridge to Tarabithia" but the commercials are more redundant than ghost rider. Fortunately it's a Holiday weekend so it should make a fair share as well.

Anyone think Music and Lyrics with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore could hurt GR's box office? It's a romcom and i think lots of females will drag their spouses to see it.

Not at all. Hugh Grant films blah. I wish my wife good luck in dragging me to that. It would help her efforts if she actually wanted to see it.
