Box Office Predictions: Star Trek XI

i love Caryle (spill.com) aka Masswyrm. I'm shocked that he's only like 34 and Corey I think is 39. WHaaaat?

Spill.com had me at "Seven Pounds...or Will Smith in I Cry Like a Little ***** for Two Hours."

I'm going to see Star Trek tomorrow, but I've already purchased the ticket for it and it's on the regular screen not IMAX (our theatre has one IMAX screen), and in retrospect I probably should've gotten it for IMAX. Oh well. However, I'll make sure to see ROTF on IMAX for sure. :)

who thinks that Star Trek will remain at number one this weekend?

I think it's possible. I'm not feeling the fire for Angels and Demons right now. I can be wrong, but I think Star Trek can do it.

i thought the DeVinci Code was more of a fad than an actual good book, you know?

I think it'll come in second to Otm Shanks' movie, but it'll be a close one.

^This movie really did rape your mother and kick your dog, didn't it?

Nope. Its The Opie Show. That's it.

You know, I know Massawyrm of AICN/Caryle of the Spill. I'd always see him at screenings when I was going to school in Austin. He's a very cool, almost larger than life dude.

Well I'm watching Star Trek again this Friday only I'll be viewing it in IMAX this time.

Guess my money will go towards Trek taking over the box office a second weekend. :wow:

Angels vs Demons doesn't seem to be grabbing much attention but who knows Da Vinci Code made a good amount of money.

"Heeeeeyyy! Kirk! KIRK! WHERE'S KIRK! Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise?

"Yes, sir, why'd you ask?"

Hmm, I guess I';; try to see both ST nad A&D this weekend. I just finished the book which was excellent, so I'll try to see it. But there's a chunk of me who wants to see ST again. I definately want to. Thank God my mom loved it so much, so she'd be more than willing to go again.

I'm going the IMAX route tomorrow too. The real IMAX at NYC, Lincoln Square

It was a good book that became a fad . All the sudden everyone had to read it and alot of them hadn't touched a book since high school.

I'm more looking foward to see Terminator Salvation than Angels and Demons this year. But since Ewan McGreggor is in ANgels and Demons I will see it.

I'm almost 100% sure that ST will be tops at the BO again. TDC had alot more publicity due to the contraversy before opening weekend which drew in crouds, plus it had absolutely no competition.

In fact with Terminator coming out next week, I would almost bet that A&D will be a potential flop of the summer.

This will be the weekend that the positive reviews on Trek, push it over the top.

Yeah, I'm really thinking that Trek has a chance of being #1 again. Aside from the bad reviews on RT, I've seen little blurbs all over the net today on how A&D is pretty much a waste of time.

I do have a friend who is going to see it, but her exact words were: "I'm going to see Angels & Demons tonight. It'll probably suck, but the book was great."

I don't see how people are getting how it's a wast of time. it's just good fun.

It's like these people are only looking at the impossible stuff it deals with and not the film itself.

So... what are the predictions for the weekend? I'm gonna go with $45 Million.
