But Spidey 3 vs. Shrek 3 can turn into next Spidey 1 vs. SW-II.

SW-II was released 2 weeks later than Spidey 1, the same what will happen with Spidey 3 and Shrek 3.

But Spidey 3 vs. Shrek 3 can turn into the next Superman Returns vs POTC 2 also, and we see how that one turned out.

Beyond the happening a few weeks after one another means very little, as Spidey 1 was a new franchise that exploded onto the scene and Attack of the Clones came off a critically and universally panned movie, that is why ATOC didn't score as much as it's predecessor.

If the CS! poll is indicative of what's to come in May, Dreamworks should really start to think about pushing the movie back to around July or so...

yeah but when the film cost over 200 mill i wouldn't excatly call that a big pay back. and plus they expected more just cause its superman.

My god you people amazing me, the reason Spidey and POTC have hype is because Spidey 3 JUST released a teaser trailer and POTC 2 was JUST released.

These movies are a year from being released in theaters, hype now means absolutely NOTHING, the only hype that is needed is months before the release, not a year, and if you think that Shrek 3 will continue to be un-hyped you are living outside of reality in some suburb of absurdity.

What money the productions makes back compared to budget has no bearing on whether a movie is a blockbuster or not, how hard is that to understand.
