Drama Breaking Bad - - Part 15

It's pretty much anyone who don't care for female characters. It's a shame.

I find her annoying, but my reasons are because I hate all women.

Plus BrBa is a horrible show. Mad Men is where it's at.

Smoking cigs gets you high?

*runs to the store to buy some cigarettes.

...?

Doesn't everyone chain smoke on Mad Men? That's what I was getting at. I thought it was a running joke with the show. I've only watched the pilot myself.

Oh, I have no idea, I've never seen an episode in my life.

Anna Gunn was the sole reason why I tuned in to Gracepoint. It's a good show.

I don't get the point of selling toys for such an adult-oriented show. I'm not sure that putting them in Toys R Us is the best place for them since more parents who shop there typically have kids that are 12 and under, which isn't exactly the audience of the show.

The toy industry has been experiencing difficulties in connecting with the current generation due to the influx of gaming apps, internet gaming, kindles, etc. Even very young kids today are more in tune with electronics-for-fun than previous generations. Hence, companies like Mattel and Hasbro have had to compensate for a shrinking traditional toy market. TRU has had a collector-specific/adult aisle for the better part of 10 years.

This is also why high-end companies like Hot Toys, McFarlane, and Medicom have risen to prominence in the last decade +. They cater to teen-to-adult collectors, not kids who play with the toys.

I just hope that this Florida Mom doesn't realize that the Marvel Universe encompasses Nazis, serial killers, vigilantes, and genocidal space deities. She'll go after Marvel Legends and the Disney channel next.

I'm not going to say that the hate towards Skyler is all misogyny (I find that to be a tired argument in many ways, personally). I know a lot of people who hate her because they interpret her actions as hypocritical. The fact that the money laundering was her idea after she showed pure disgust and was going to leave Walt after he told her his secret is reason enough to be turned off by her character, in my opinion.

That said, though, I do not hate Skyler at all. I actually see why she did what she did, as hypocritical as it was. She felt stuck, and she wanted to keep her family safe and as normal as possible, so she came up with a bunch of ideas for Walt because of control. I feel that her character felt a certain amount of control over the situation when she came up with these ideas to help Walt. Not saying I agree with her actions, but I saw where her motivations were coming from. She was clearly scared s***less of the situation AND Walt, so she felt that if something was going down, then she'd at least have some say in it, which I can understand.

The only time Skyler really ticked me off was when she agreed to film Walt's confession video against Hank, for obvious reasons.

Anyway, I've always viewed Skyler as a victim, but a victim that "broke bad" for the safety of her children and herself. Her decisions were clearly wrong, but her motivations were understandable to me, if that makes any sense.

I'm watching the show now, it's quite good.

Why does everybody hate Skyler?

During the cheating phase and just general early seasons, I thought Skylar came off really b****y, but yet, she wasn't the worst or anything. But later on, I really felt for her, and she became a really strong character. I'm not sure why so many people outright hated her, I got over that quick, come season 3 or so. In the end, Walt really was the bad guy, so...

I'm in the middle of season two right now, I'm ok with all the characters.

Based on what I had read online I had expected Skyler to be some nagging witch. Thus far I basically find all her actions rational given the context, plus Gunn is a good actress.

Bryan Cranston is such a terrific actor. His blowfish speech to Jesse was spoken with such vitality lol.

I never "hated" Skyler, and in fact grew to like her quite a bit later on, however I didn't like here at first because I found her to be such a wet blanket in the early seasons. Or maybe it's because I'm a horrible misogynist. Yeah, that's probably it.

If you weren't one of the *****ebags sending death threats then the misogyny comment probably wasn't aimed at you. Grow a thicker skin, people. FFS

One only has to look at the gamergate thing to see that it is indeed a thing. So no, I don't think it's thta much of a stretch to assume that there are a huge number of toxic *******s out there for whom the easiest explanation is probably not too far off base.

What do you expect when you paint in such broad strokes? Why are you now uppity that someone has to explain themselves, when you already said you think the majority are misogynists? If you think people are crazy for having to explain themselves, maybe you shouldn't be lumping in the majority of people who dislike her as misogynists.

So, TRU pulled the toys from the shelves.

It's probably best, what with the serious influx of meth dealers we've had since then.

I didn't realize I'd wandered into a day care center instead of a forum with mostly rational adults. I'm terribly sorry if I hurt anyones pwecious feewings.

I hope Susan Schrivjer realizes that all of the free publicity for the figure line has them skyrocketing in demand right in the many other places where they can be purchased. She's done quite well at promoting them; perhaps Mezco should hire her for their PR department.

I love Breaking Bad, but i'm gonna have to side with the Florida Mom on this one. Those toys have no business in a store meant for children. They come with fake crystal meth!

I've actually lost a bit of respect for Aaron, seeing him get so ******** over this. :whatever:
