I have been on such a weird journey with this film.
When it was first announced, I was like 'Why? You just finished rebooting Batman and made what was the most critically acclaimed superhero movie ever. Can't you just let Batman be for a bit before rebooting him?' (Saying Snyder was going to be the director did not make me happy either).
Then they announced Ben Affleck would be Batman and I kind of thought, 'Hey, this might be alright. I'll bet Affleck is going to be an awesome Batman'.
Then the trailers started to come out and I was starting to get that 'oh no' sense again.
Then the last trailer came out with Alfred dropping Batman off the Batplane and it looked pretty awesome, so I got excited again.
Now, reading the reviews and looking at the Rotten Tomatoes score... man. I kind of thought it wouldn't be super well received, but I thought it'd get a decent reception (50-60%) and would be a good but not great film that would hopefully lead to better films like an Affleck stand-alone Batfilm and a Justice League with better writing/directing.
Instead it's getting torn to shreds critically... I'm still going to go see it tomorrow/tonight (it's past midnight, but I haven't gone to bed yet) and after reading a couple of spoilers about some decisions they made with Bat's character that have me seriously irked, I'm not that excited to see it. That stinks.
