Where are the Asians? The Latinos? Clearly, Nolan's racist!
We need affirmative action for film actors now!

An all minority commando team film called Affirmative Action?
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/interstellars-wes-bentley-opens-up-595710The actor considered the next Christian Bale after "American Beauty," who began using drugs to escape expectations, has landed major roles in Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" and Ryan Murphy's HBO pilot "Open."
In 2009, 10 years after breaking out in American Beauty, Wes Bentley was holed up in a dingy apartment in Los Angeles' Little Armenia, withdrawing from copious amounts of drugs, including cocaine and heroin.
His best friend, Heath Ledger, had died a year earlier from a prescription drug overdose, the same year Bentley was arrested and pled guilty to heroin possession. There were no auditions on the horizon. In serious debt with the IRS, he had hit rock bottom.
Shortly before, Bentley had been shooting Roland Joffe's There Be Dragons in Argentina, his only film work, when a colleague opened up about his own recovery. Something about the man's enthusiasm for life touched Bentley. He wanted to feel that way again. After detoxing in L.A., he hopped a plane back to Buenos Aires the next day and began attending daily meetings with his sober friend.
Now, four years sober, Bentley is in great demand again. He recently landed the lead role in Ryan Murphy's HBO pilot Open. And the 34-year-old actor just booked a meaty supporting role in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar -- an ironic career twist given that Nolan was one of the directors Bentley passed on when he was in the throes of drug abuse.
"I put up such a wall that I didn't even go and meet with these great directors whom I respected and admired so much," says Bentley, who also turned down opportunities to work with Tim Burton, Ang Lee and Tony Scott.
His addiction caused him to take lengthy breaks from working. After shooting The Four Feathers with Ledger in 2000, he didn't shoot a film again until The Game of Their Lives in 2003, then nothing until Ghost Rider in 2005.
"I wasn't bringing my A game to any of them," he recalls. "I don't know if I was bringing my B game. I just kind of didn't care and [was] coasting."
"I've been given this second chance, and I'm going to do everything I can with it," he says. "And with Chris Nolan giving me an opportunity, I'm working with people that I can really learn from."
Still, there's one side of Bentley that hasn't emerged professionally -- his sense of humor, hidden for years behind the brooding and drug use.
"I would definitely love to do a straight-up comedy, like a Judd Apatow movie [or] the whole Seth Rogen group," he says. "I love the Coen brothers' sense of humor. … For so many years, I took everything so seriously. Life could have been a lot more fun."
Why do people even check the IMDB boards? Horrible horrible place.

http://www.thewrap.com/movies/colum...e-thrones-actor-interstellar-exclusive-108156 I was wrong when I said this would have a small cast a couple months back....British actor Elyes Gabel, who stars on ABC's "Body of Proof" and played Rakharo on HBO's "Game of Thrones," has landed a part in Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar," an individual familiar with the secretive project has told TheWrap.
Paramount, Warner Bros. and a representative for Nolan did not respond to a request for comment, though the three parties haven't confirmed any "Interstellar" casting to TheWrap.
He joins a jaw-dropping cast led by Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain.
The epic sci-fi movie also features Topher Grace, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck and Mackenzie Foy, as well as David Oyelowo, John Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn, Bill Irwin, David Gyasi and Timothee Chalamet, whose castings were first reported by TheWrap.
Nolan is producing with Emma Thomas and Lynda Obst. The start of production is hardly light years away.
Gabel recently appeared in Paramount's "World War Z" and the James McAvoy movie "Welcome to the Punch."

I guess some of cast like Gabel,Gyasi,Irwin and Chalamet will have very small roles in the film but because it is a Nolan film, sites will report on every bit of casting they can get a scoop on.How many of these screen studs will have two or three lines at the most? Like Lucas Haas and countless others in Inception and Rises.

It'd be hilarious if then the limitless exposition is delivered in endless title cards. It's a silent film.
Hundreds wait for a casting call for Christopher Nolan's next big sci fi movie, will be shooting in #yql next month
http://www.edmontonjournal.com/entertainment/Matthew+McConaughey+Michael+Caine+Jessica+Chastain+Casey/8728416/story.htmlMatthew McConaughey, Michael Caine, Jessica Chastain and Casey Affleck are all expected to spend at least part of the next month in Alberta as director Christopher Nolan begins a unit shoot for his big-budget science-fiction film in small towns under a veil of secrecy.
Interstellar, the latest from the director of the Dark Knight Rises, will shoot starting next Tuesday until Sept. 9 in various locations in southern Alberta, including Nanton, Okotoks, Longview and Lethbridge.
The film also stars Academy Award-winner Anne Hathaway, but sources tell the Herald that the actress will not be here for the Alberta shoot. McConaughey, who plays the protagonist of the film, is expected to be in Alberta for most of the unit shoot.
No one would talk on the record about the secretive production, which is set to be released on Nov. 7, 2014.
The film also stars John Lithgow, Wes Bentley, Topher Grace and Ellen Burstyn. Child actors Timothee Chalamet (TVs Homeland) and Mackenzie Foy (Twilight, The Conjuring) are also expected to be in Alberta.
The Warner Bros. and Paramount Production has opened a production office in Okotoks under the name Floras Letter.
Over the weekend, hundreds turned up for a extras casting call. While there was no indication that it was for Interstellar, the Lethbridge Herald reported on Saturday that it was for the big-budget film.
Sources say Interstellar will hire roughly 130 crew members for the month-long shoot, roughly 100 of them are from the local Alberta film industry.
http://www.calgarysun.com/2013/07/31/interstellar-star-matthew-mcconaughey-spotted-in-eau-claire-in-downtown-calgaryDowntown diners got a side of movie star with their dinner Wednesday night.
And for a few Calgary moms, a day at the wading pool got a whole lot cooler, too.
Matthew McConaughey, in town to begin shooting the new Christopher Nolan film InterStellar, was spotted in Eau Claire Wednesday, hanging with, spectators believed, his wife and kids at the wading pool and dining on the Joey Eau Claire patio in front of star-struck fans.
Connie Jacab was at the wading pool with her son about 3 p.m. when she looked over and saw the Texan born Hollywood actor.
At first I thought, that cant be ... and then we heard him talk and said, Oh yeah, she said.
So we were all trying to inconspicuously take a picture.
Dressed in khaki pants, runners, and a plaid casual shirt, he was sitting on the edge of the pool, she said.
While too shy to approach him, also wanting to respect his time with his family, she said another mom went up to him and took a picture.
Im still kind of star struck, she said.
Ive never seen anyone famous.
It was kind of fun.
It'd be hilarious if then the limitless exposition is delivered in endless title cards.
Kubrick : The length of a movie imposes considerable restrictions on how much story you can put into it, especially if the story is told in a conventional way.

Which conventions are you referring to?
Kubrick : The convention of telling the story primarily through a series of dialogue scenes. Most films are really little more than stage plays with more atmosphere and action. I think that the scope and flexibility of movie stories would be greatly enhanced by borrowing something from the structure of silent movies where points that didn't require dialog could be presented by a shot and a title card. Something like: Title: Billy's uncle. Picture: Uncle giving Billy ice cream. In a few seconds, you could introduce Billy's uncle and say something about him without being burdened with a scene. This economy of statement gives silent movies a much greater narrative scope and flexibility than we have today. In my view, there are very few sound films, including those regarded as masterpieces, which could not be presented almost as effectively on the stage, assuming a good set, the same cast and quality of performances. You couldn't do that with a great silent movie.
