C. Nolan's Interstellar - Part 2

The sequels has Heath Ledger and Marion Cotillard, so Im not sure I agree.

While I see that side, I was more referring to star power. Cillian Murphy, maybe not so much but the others definitely were well known.

Robinov is leaving WB. This is a good thing for the studio IMHO. Maybe it will help their relationship with Legendary Pictures and Nolan. They should have kept Alan Horn (friend of both Nolan and Legendary's Thomas Tull) instead of firing Horn to appease Robinov.

So, they fired a pretty good exec with positive connections to one of their biggest moneymakers (Nolan) to appease another exec, who then moved to a rival studio successfully, then the exec they tried to please started falling out with people and now he's gone too.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot lol

Inception is still his best cast, though there are some very interesting choices with Interstellar. Plus it hasn't even filled out all the way yet. Could turn out to be a better cast than Inception when it's all said and done. I just love to see him working with some new actors. Betcha he gets the best McConaughey performance ever, kinda like he got the best Jackman performance ever.

After watching Mud, that's hard to imagine. But he'll certainly be great. I agree that Jackman in The Prestige was one of his best performances.

Holmes was the best Rachel, IMO.
Honestly, even though Maggie is infinitely superior than Katie as an actress overall, IMO Katie was a better Rachel than Maggie.
She really was. We've had conversations about this before but Katie's Rachel really did feel as if she was childhood friends with Bale's Wayne.

There was a genuineness to their relationship in Begins that was completely not present in TDK with Maggie and Bale.

As for Casey Affleck that's another interesting choice to an already eclectic cast.

Agreed... Bale had a small spark of chemistry with Katie in BB. It wasn't great by any means but it was enough to believe they were childhood friends.

There was literally nothing but dead space between him and Maggie in TDK.

I really wish Katie had hung around for TDK.

The only lady in the franchise Bale had chemistry with is Hathaway. And since he had no chemistry with Holmes there was no reason for her bad acting self to stay onboard.

agreed 100%

Holmes' Rachel was judgmental about who she perceived Bruce to be. Maggie's Rachel knew the deal and was still heavily judgmental. **** that stuff.

That's more writing that acting though.

But at the same time, being a vigilante isn't exactly appealing.

I just realized who Sawyer reminds me of, it's Luke from Modern Family. :funny:

Yes, they hit it off. Luckily Anne came in for the last movie and injected that much needed sex appeal to the Nolan series.

Agreed. I'll always be disappointed that they didn't have more scenes together. :(

I haven't seen Mud yet. Best performances I've seen from him so far would be in Dazed and Confused and A Time To Kill.

RACHEL: "Harvey may not know you well enough to know when you're making fun of him, but I do." :cmad:

BRUCE: "I meant every word."

THE AUDIENCE: :o

Mud is so good.

And yes, Matthew's shirtless in that one too!

What a versatile cast so far. What's interesting is that everybody so far is very capable of doing comedy. I could see this being a space crew that has a nice amount of banter with one another.

That's because the trilogy was all about the bromance. Selina and Rachel can eat ****. It was all about Bats/Gordon. :o:up:

Hathaway deserves an Oscar for that alone. Bale has never been great when it comes to onscreen chemistry with women.

Never is a strong word. One I don't particularly agree with. I'm very interested in his new film with Malick, Knight of Cups, were is sharing screentime with quite a few women.

Well in my opinion... yeah, never. He's one of my favourite actors, but this area has never been his strong suit. Fortunately he is so good, he can get away with it.

I'm hoping Amy Adams and Natalie Portman can bring something out of him. Certainly as he seems much more laid back these days.

He had awesome chemistry with Rebecca Hall, so I'd disagree with the "never" description. Fact is Rachel Dawes was a horribly written character, so Maggie had no real interest in throwing herself into the role. Katie is just a bad actress so it was irrelevant how hard she might have tried.

Yup , Prestige, And in New World his relationship with Pocahontas is beautifully represented.
