Tomorrow is when I'll be seeing it. Had a family dinner that I went to tonight that delayed it for a day. May go see it Monday afternoon as well after a business meeting.

Holy ****, I bet Obadiah Stane was HYDRA. It makes a lot of sense given his plans to take over Stark Industries and the fact [blackout]]Howard was murdered by HYDRA[/blackout]. Hell, it makes sense that all of the villains in the Iron Man trilogy were covertly HYDRA, and fits perfectly with the comics because of Iron Man's stories in Tales of Suspense along with Captain America. I hope they go more into that in AOU and don't just leave it up to interpretation.

what about
the ten rings terrorists being an offshoot of hydra or being funded by them?

anyways, saw the movie .. loved it.,, absolutely awesome... cant wait to see the MCU rolling on to greater heights..

Is it just me or was ScarJo hot as **** in this movie? Like they toned down the makeup and she looked like crazy hot.

It's never just me. :csad:

Well, finally saw the film. Loved it. Absolutely loved it. 5/5

First, it offers brilliant social commentary the long ongoing freedom vs. safety debate and on how people in power use people's fears to take away their freedom while hiding behind the curtain of "safety". "The price of freedom is high" is the whole theme of the movie and when Cap delivers that line, it is very satisfying. Second, it also offers great commentary on the anti-authority nature of superheroes, particularly through Cap's character arc and Black Widow's speech at the end.

The action scenes are fantastic. I see people in the Batman threads saying it's how Batman should fight, and I completely agree with that. Whedon has a lot to live up to in Avengers 2, at least in terms of Cap.

Falcon was great. Liked him a lot. Hope to see him in future films. I also thought SLJ was at his best. Nick Fury's never been more badass, funny, and likeable all at the same time. Not that he wasn't those things in the previous films, but this is the best Marvel has done with the character so far IMO.

I thought the tone was good and consistent. It had a good balance between fights and emotional impact, and had the best humor out of all the Phase 2 films. There still is humor during intense moments, but it feels more natural and subtle than in IM3 and T:TDW.

There are a few problems I have, though. For one, I thought the soundtrack was a bit bland and really lacking, even sucking the soul a bit out of some of tight scenes. The film itself is very big in scale, but the soundtrack itself doesn't seem to be as aware of that. That's not to say there aren't any good tracks, though. Second, I thought Peggy could have used more screen time. The scene with Peggy is great, but it's a bit too short. I also feel the Winter Soldier/Bucky should have had more of a presence. Going in, I got the impression that the Winter Soldier was this huge ghost story going around SHIELD but although Natasha does bring him up, that's the only time his ghost-like presence is brought up. You never see anyone else from SHIELD react to the stories going around the Winter Soldier or his revealed existence (not counting the HYDRA spies).

Overall, great flick. It's probably the best Marvel Studios film, but I'll have to do more thinking on that and process the film a bit before I can concretely come to that conclusion. I'd rank it up there with Iron Man and The Avengers though, in the "great (5/5)" category. I'm not sure how it holds up compared to IM and TA but best case scenario, it's the best Marvel Studios film and worst case scenario, it's in third place. And I'm leaning a lot closer to the best case scenario for now .

Man, Mackie was so funny on Fallon. Just being the normal ham he normally is on the red carpet or any other interview from the past several years.

Ok, I have now seen the movie. Liked it a lot. It's badass - very good action. It is a link in a bigger chain, but importantly The Winter Soldier is a good sequel to The First Avenger, following up locations and themes.

Marvel need to do special editions of all their movies like Star Wars. They should replace footage of Howard Stark with Dominic Cooper in IM1 and IM2.

No they shouldn't. Dominic Cooper's Howard Stark is a younger version than the one we see in IM1 and IM2.

Perhaps there will be some Hydra explanation as to why Howard looked different in IM, IM2 and CA:TFA. :hehe:

My above post goes for this as well. Younger version, no need for an explanation.

Lmao, that and

- Replace Terrance Howard with Don Cheadle in Iron Man and insert Mark Ruffalo and The Avengers Hulk design into The Incredible Hulk

- Move the Ross/ Stark Bar scene to the end of the credits to make it the film's after credits scene

- Give Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk animated end credits like the rest of the films

- Redesign and re-edit the cgi parts of Asgard in Thor to look a little more like the way it does in Thor The Dark World.

- Give the Abominations ear and make Red Skull's head look less clean and more gruesome

- RE-COMPOSE the lackluster score for The Avengers

- Some more scenes showcasing the Iron Legion in the Iron Man 3 finale

- Insert all the beneficial deleted scenes into the films

among other things

I'mma be real. They don't even have to insert Ruffalo... but if they replace The Incredible Hulk with The Avengers Hulk I'd pay 60 dollars for that special edition.

But those versions of Howard Stark look nothing like Dominic Cooper. At all! There should still be some resemblance.

And Howard Stark completely changes appearance between IM1 and IM2. It's not like there's a great difference in age there.

They should just get Cooper in make up like they did for Hayley Atwell and age him appropriately. IM1 and IM2 were made before they settled on a standard appearance for Howard, which they've now used in everything since.

Most regular people don't think about this stuff that hard. Only hardcore fans. It would really be hoing out of the way to replace a few seconds of footage with a different actor.
Star wars did it, but it seems different there

You guys seen this? https://***********/colliderfrosty/status/452316618442276865

I'm going to see this today.

just to clarify, there is only one mid-credit scene, and no post credit scene. Correct?

There is one right at the end of the credits too, yes.
