Again, it stayed just ahead of The Angry Birds Movie (by about $117K) to top the box office. Looks like Angry Birds had its decent opening weekend to top CW but it's not big enough to top it thereafter. It'll be interesting to see which film places 3rd this coming weekend after X-Men and Alice. CW, if it has a good hold, can stay ahead of Angry Birds, I think.

Also, it passed Toy Story 3 on the all-time worldwide chart yesterday but it won't show until the overseas numbers are updated.

I wonder if the new bombshell about Cap in the 616 will affect this film at all? I can def see why they didn't want that close to the release of this film. major outlets have been covering the news all day though. If you believe in the old saying no promotion is bad promotion but it is pretty crazy for Cap.

I highly doubt it. The people who pay attention to that sort of online chatter are the ones who already paid to see the film on OW and probably a number of times since then, and are well versed enough to separate MCU Cap from current gossip. The average person may see such things on their social media feed but won't pay much attention to it, certainly won't influence their decision to see a film.

Stupid AF! I Can't believe Marvel published this and better yet that anyone is buying it. It's why I stopped buying comics awhile back. Rather than write good stories, they write "shocking" ones that makes no sense. This is one of them.

If it wasn't for the MCU, I wouldn't bother with marvel nowadays. For me, messing with Cap (and Spider-man in the past) doesn't drive me away from simply that book, but that whole brand. Yeah, once in awhile I will buy a few Marvel comics here and there, but it's rare.

I was avoiding a lot of DC as well, but REBIRTH has me very interested.

This is sort of the same reason I had for dropping them as well. I'd always been someone who read mostly CA and his Avengers stuff so I tried to keep going even after Steve got replaced by Sam but the drastic change in tone from Spencer ultimately made me completely drop them. I now only keep up every so often by reading reviews and storyline recaps.

You mean he has lived with telepaths for over 50 years and nobody has ever picked up anything? Xavier and Jean (not teen Jean, obviously) would have been gentle, but Emma Frost would have busted him out in a heartbeat.

Yep! It's crazy because no way it could have been hidden that he was Hydra for this long. First Iron Man and now Cap. I guess Thor will be next to turn into a bad guy.

These are not even good stories, just for shock value. If they wanted to push a gay superhero, why not push Northstar? I just can't with Marvel these days.
