Chapter 59 - "An Invisible Thread" Discussion Thread - 4/27/09

This really felt like a mid season episode instead of a finale. The only cool part was Peter getting Sylar in the limo.

Making Sylar Nathan is a interesting idea, but as someone said, Matt could've used his telepathy on the president and everyone involved, and maybe have created a worthy death for Nathan. Big let down. Ah well.

He didn't bleed out and it was done quickly enough to restore him to life. Nathan bled out and no longer had any blood flowing through his body.
Noah was shot on the beach...they took him back to the facility and then gave him an iv drip...it was just a poorly written episode to a horrible season.

it wasnt as good as it could have bee, but it could have been worse. Season 3 was boned from the get go, Fuller came back too late in the game to fix it in the time he had. Im hoping next season will get back on track, and redemption will be what the writers will have rather than just the name of the volume

Yep this definately wasnt a bad season it had its ups and downs and obviousely people like to focus on the downs but overall it definately entertained me and i look forward to the next volume.

I will admit the finale could have been better though, also just because sylar showed that he still had his original power doesnt mean that hes already remembering who he really is. Just because Matt brainwashed him doesnt mean his original power will go away especially since its not one he can turn on and off like rest of the heroes.

And one of Sylars power is to see a persons lifes history...not take on their persona.

Again, he didn't bleed out though. Nathan bled out.
Noah could have bleed out...he was shot in the face. Just hook Claire up to him and her blood would heal his wound and fill him back up:o It was lamezo.

re:Season Finale

Dear Writers of Heroes, as a long time fan i would humbly request that you use Vaseline next time before you screw me.

Thanks.

You know, I expected a disappointing finale, not a godawful one. Couldn't Peter shape shift into Nathan and settle things? Must they take the psychotic serial killer and put him right under their noses like a ticking time bomb? The whole entire concept is disturbing and it feels like an insult to Nathan's memory. I'm sure Peter and Claire will enjoy the fact that they were hugging and kissing Sylar all those months. And since the next season is called Redemption, I assume it will be Sylar focused. Why don't they just call it The Sylar Show and get it over with?

I think I'm going back to watching 24 on Mondays. I was trying to show some support for this dying show but now I don't think it deserves it anymore.

I really wished we could've seen that fight. Remind ya of Five Years Later?

Anyway I got over that quick. That was Tracy Strauss at the end and not 'Barbara' right? Didn't they mention that someone's house got filled with water near the beginning of Fugitives?

And we all know that Sylar is coming back. Maybe we'll see his father again? If he touches anything that Matt, Noah, or Angela wore that day then he'll pretty much be back...besides him not having a memory of himself. We'll see how this plays out.

At the very least let Peter keep those powers for good. He would have flight & be a super bad ass :o

Does any one else find it odd that no one finds it strange that a United States Senator...someone who goes under an extreme vetting process can just have a suprise daughter and no one, not even old friends, say "WTF?"

1) When did Sylar get the ability to fly?

2) Of course the writers go the most predictable route and kill off Nathan

3) Why don't they just give Nathan Claire blood?

This wasn't a terrible episode...I actually think the turning Sylar into Nathan was pretty cool and could make for an interesting story. As a finale though it was kinda dissapointing...I was hoping for a more epic fight. This is probably the worst finale of all of them mostly as I'm not really hyped for the next season at all unlike the other seasons.

How did they find /create a Sylar body to burn? I missed something there ..

Also Matt did save Nathan in a weird sort of way , so there you go.

The shapeshifter Sylar killed a couple episodes ago.

Ugh, they've pretty much undone any progress they've made in recent episodes to rebuilding this show.

I can guarantee that by episode 3 Sylar will remember who he was, then you will have Claire/Peter *****ing to Noah/Angela about how they were lied to by their parent while Sylar spends another season on his same as always, boring, rampage.

Also, the teaser for Redemption with Tracy was just horrible. Absolutely horrible.

Also, the plot holes, oh the plot holes. I suppose I can buy Peter taking all of Sylar's powers and not just Sylar's original power (plus it works cause any time they need to depower Peter, he can just touch someone and bye bye powers) and I suppose I can forgive the inexplicable question of how Peter not only got to the President, but was able to stash him away somewhere so that he could comandeer the Secret Service detail and presidential limo. However, I must ask...why the **** didn't they just use Claire blood on Nathan? It revived HRG who was dead a lot longer than Nathan (enough time to be transported from California to Odessa). Hell, they didn't even need Claire blood. Both Peter and Sylar had healing abilities at that point, why not use that? This show can't even keep its own continuities in track.

The Sylar body they burned was the shape shifter that Sylar and Danko caught a few episodes earlier. Bennett stopped it from being cremated b/c he needed to prove to himself that the body wasn't the real Sylar.

Matt did save Nathan's "life"...it's just not the same person.

Also, did I miss something or did they explain what the painting of something blowing up by the Capitol was? Or is that an element they just retconned out of existence?

Well, at least I have badass Tracy to look forward to next season.

Everyone else can go!

Danko strapped Matt to a bomb and threw him infront of the Capitol Building but Nathan stopped the bomb.

The only problem is, last time we saw Tracy she was on the road to being...y'know...good.

Between her sudden change in behavior and the lack of consistency with the Claire blood...sigh...way to completely erase all the progress you made writers

I actually think she is on the road to becoming sort of "good" in her eyes, as from the looks of it, she's going around killing the people that locked her up for days in Building 26.

what is up with the show and replacing characters just based on their looks...

First it was Nikki, they saw that her power was boring and there was no meat, so they replaced her with a TWIN?????? Somebody that looks like her but has a recognizable power.

I really dont' like the idea of Sylar/Nathan thingie. I dont' like how they offed Nathan either, it was cool, but shocking at the same time.

I like the character of Nathan, he was kool, he had an awesome power, the power of flight, there could have been alot of awesome stories with that power......... OH WELL........ AT LEAST LOST IS STILL AROUND

How many times are you going to post in this forum schlepping Lost. Most of us watch it already thanks!
