Spidey is one of top 2 super heroes, but i am sad to say neither trailer they have released has done anything to excite me as of yet. I am still sure the movie will be good, its Marvel after all, but some of the suggested story elements worry me, and it doesn't look much different to what we have seen before, from both Marvel and Spiderman.

I will still be seeing g the movie of course, just hoping for the best at this point.

I don't know if it's a forever deal, but I do know that Marvel paid nothing for use of the character in CW and will pay nothing for his appearance in Avengers IW.

I'm sure the way Sony looks at it, is free advertising for films they can profit off of, if people get interested in this iteration of the character.

Maybe Marvel kills him in the last movie they can make with him in it. LOL.

Pascal literally got in bed with Marvel.

Love me some Guardians, but it was still very beholden to the Marvel formula, even though Gunn had amazing personality injected into it. I am kind of hopeful he has a free leash on Guardians 2 to actually make a bat**** crazy movie that you can tell he wants to. The fact they are letting him break from the bland cinematography of every Marvel Studios movie since First Avenger is a good sign.

Interesting that Disney released their entire film lineup (Star Wars, MCU, Pixar, Animated, Live Action) until 2019, but they stopped at Captain Marvel and not Avengers 4.

I'm sure most of the words we use would make our ancestors throw up. Language evolves. We have to deal with it. Literally is now not literally.

Or the word "like" is a throw away word used in mid-sentences for no reason.

I remember my English teacher cringing on how some girls would explained stuff and use to pepper in the word "like".

I still can't get over how bad CGI Spidey looks on Homecoming. Talk about spoiling a good thing.

Thought the Homecoming trailer was decent, I feel like the recent other Spidey efforts have fatigued fans a bit what with two origin stories and a mixed bag for the past three solo films but they did seem to perhaps show a bit too much in the trailer, some moments could have been saved a bit. Stark seems to be in a similar place to Wolverine in the X-Men films a few years back with him being involved more than anyone which rubs people up the wrong way but thats popularity for you.

The Vulture looks like the most interesting part of the whole thing, will hopefully be a fun villain and used well.

The good thing is that he probably won't have solos any more and X-films were pretty much just X-men films starring Wolverine and Wolverine solos at the time. Stark will be likely taking a back seat as the MCU moves forward and Homecoming could be his only upcoming significant appearance outside of the 2 Avengers films with possibly even less after that.

Irregardless of developments?

Excuse me? :cwink: (That one's been around a lot longer than I have, but it still just sounds wrong to my ear).

I'm okay with some developments-- somebody made a good point about internet lingo having a unique rhythm and consequently different meanings, and I've somewhat taken that on in certain situations (usually making a joke), but what can I say-- I guess I'm closer to a traditionalist? I don't think we should let people constantly misusing a word change the actual meaning of it. So while I don't bang my head over everything, this one irritates me a bit.

It's disappointing considering how good the practical suit looks in the set pics. Love the modern Ditko vibe.

I love Downey's Stark, but he kind of stole "Captain America:" Civil War from Cap (but it was more an Avengers movie anyway), and he will likely be the centerpiece of the next two proper Avengers movies... as he was the last two.

Not that I complain either since his time is almost up in the role. However, it really has reached Wolverine levels at this point.

I do not agree. Stark was vital to Civil War, but I do feel the film leans Cap. I agree it is mostly an Avengers film, but Stark never felt more important than Cap to the plot. It felt like Cap was the most prominent character.

I agree, Cap was the central figure in the movie. It is Cap's actions and decisions that drive all of the action. Everyone, including Iron Man, is reacting to what Cap is doing in the film.

Agree with you and Spider Fan. Caps actions are clearly driving this story.

I also feel that if Homecoming takes place after Civil War then it would be weird if Stark wasn't in it. He recruited Peter, of course he will be integral to his growth as a hero. We will have to see where the story takes us.
