There were plenty of blue and greens throughout the film. Nolan utilized many hues.

Just stick with whatever looks natural.

We're talking bout the color schemes of the posters and dvd cases. atleast, that's what I'm talkin bout.

Considering gunmetal wasn't at all found in the posters or dvd cases, then that's not what I or Ronny were referring to.

"brown" is a desaturated form of red or yellow.

"gunmetal" is desaturated blue...silverish/greyish/bluish (I thought it was anyway)

No, this is gunmetal:

can't see the pic.

But its probably grey and not bluish. I'll cede that.

gunmetal's blue?

just to make it clear bb= brown and black
tdk=blue and black
Agreed. Simple as that. By the way, Nolan used my favorite combination of colors. TDK is to me more special because of that (among other things)

I think Fire would be good. If you saw the scream awards they had the bat symbol with a fire background...that would be pretty cool.

From how I saw it, I figured the colors were based on the time of day.

Batman Begins- Dusk
The Dark Knight- Night
Batman 3- Dawn??

I like this idea, so I guess dawn would be like a Purple?

Dawn is traditionally shown in cinema as being orange.

Although sunlight show blue on film compared to incandescent light.

green could sorta pass as dawn... naw, not really.:clown:

White is cinema language for morning light.

Blue is darkness/cold

Yellows are evening.

so far, IMO, Red sounds like the best choice. It easily represents the "Dawn" motif people have talked about, it represents the last third of a "Primary Color" trio with the first two films...it's a decent nod to "Batman: The Animated Series" (Obviously I would expect Nolan and Pfister to downplay it so that it's not 'blood-red skies' but still)...

And it feels to be the most fun and mosrt natural of the present choices.

Amber has been done in 'Begins.'
Blue has been done in 'TDK.'
Black/Gray is too bland.
Green is too 'Matrix.'
Orange is too bright.
Purple is too 'Joker.'
Yellow is too piss.
Brown is too poop.

Red is perfect.

if Green is too Matrix wouldn't that make Red too cliché?

Having seen the uniform blu-ray covers for the Burton/Schumacher Batman films, Batman 89 corresponds in colour to Batman Begins, and Batman returns is a sort of white/blue, which almost responds to The Dark Knight. With that in mind, and the fact that Batman Forever's cover is green, I'd like the sequel to be green so that in a further regard Nolan can be seen to be over-writing what happened before.

Wow. It almost seems logical to me.

It's funny, but I can't rationalize this thread. I rationalize everything, but reasons for picking colors have always eluded me. For me, it's an asthetic preference... I like red, and I don't like green. Red have always been in epic climaxes, green is very obvious for Riddler (and this movie should be about Batman, not his new villains).... etc. etc. I know there are reasons, but for the first time I abse my choice on personal taste and not on anything else...
I like red. I dislike green. Ergo, I want green as the primary color for the next film.

Logical? No. That's what I find so funny.

well, I still say green if we got the riddler, red if we don't.
...and maybe white if it takes place in winter!!
