Commissioner Gordon Casting Thread

I've been all about Kyle Chandler, but you know what other Kyle might be up for the task?

A bit on the older side, but I have no serious objections to this particular casting.

I don't know if he's old enough but i would take him. Plus, in FNL, he had this "I'm 100% done" attitude but was also endearing which reminds me of Gordon a little bit.

He's a good handful of years older than Oldman would've been during Batman Begins. I think it works.

I saw someone suggest Steve Zahn before, and that could be a sort of unconventionally interesting choice, plus he's worked with Matt Reeves before.

Just throwing some names out that I think fit the role to some extent, that haven't been mentioned much. Some would naturally fit better than others, but I think each of them definitely brings something to the table:

Definitely a fan of some of the names that have recently been mentioned in the thread though, like Steve Zahn, Guy Pearce, Ethan Hawke, and Kyle Chandler for example. Gordon certainly seems like an easy character to cast with all these great choices!

I could see Viggo Mortensen but I doubt he'd do it. He turned down Ducard/Ra's in Batman Begins IIRC and generally doesn't seem that interested in genre films unless you count Lord of the Rings.

Oddly enough, I could also see Paul Giamatti, based partly on his performance as the police inspector in The Illusionist.

Things change and Viggo’s come close to a few supporting parts in blockbusters since (including Zod in Man of Steel.) He might be just too old to pair up with Battinson though, and even if they did get him, what I’d want is Cronenberg behind the camera.
