I think the mod forum should be made public. Not to where other people can post in it, but specifically so we can just see how the mods work the board and how decisions are made. It would be an interesting learning experience, and would drop some of the cloak and dagger complaints that people have.

Heh, you don't wanna see in there. I wouldn't want to either, the mods have to have some place to talk freely and yes, to vent their frustrations about certain pain-in-the-ass posters.

It's true.

I wouldn't have continued being a moderator had the forum been made public. Obviously I've resigned, but, you get the point.

It would basically be like the public getting access to the police and FBI members discussions about their work. Somebody would get murdered.

We have to vent in public, and often get banned because of it. Why do they have to vent in private?

Doesn't the public already have access to a lot of that information, if only they ask?

B/c people would start accusing them of favoring certain posters if we could see every part of their deliberating. Besides, if the mod forums were made public, they'd just PM/IM each other more. You'd still not get to see everything.

And honestly what do you wanna see; Drakon and Malice talking html jargon or all the juicy gossip about banned users?

It looks like a good idea, yeah, but I think it's a much better idea to keep things the way they are.

Well if it's true there shouldn't be a problem with it coming to light, and should be a cause of reform. If we believe mods should be impartial. If we don't believe that, then it shouldn't be an issue either way.

i agree.

the washroom is the hype's pandora box. everyone wants a peek inside, but we don't need to know what's in there. as much as i'd like to know some things that go on in there, i dont need to know

Do you really want to find out that one of your most beloved posters is actually a sex offender or something?

:o

If we opened the washroom, we would have to delete our WE HATE SQUIRREL thread. Bummer.
