The bi-monthly Member Moderation system:
The last week of every other month, a thread is made by a mod/admin.
In it posters will post what they want the mods to do:
ban/unban/probate certain members close/reopen certain threads etc.
if a certain vent is voted on oh id say 50 times it happens
Banning or unbanning a poster simply because 50 people voted to do so? I could easily see that being manipulated and abused.
We could make the whole thing really ironic and vote for Thor Odinson to be banned, thereby killing him with his own idea.

How about MOD for a day in which one person is given access to all MOD related forums except for the ability to ban and delete crap. This will allow the humble posters to see behind the scenes for once instead of wondering.
Just let me have a quick peek. I hear some epic parties go down in there. And yes I was joking...I think this whole thread is a joke thread now anywaysThat or pointless.
It was discussed briefly and it was stated that why a person got banned should be between the Mods and the Ban-ee. Which I think makes sense honestly. If you got yelled or got in trouble in school for something would you want it announced to the whole classroom? Especially if the teacher took you aside to reprimand you.I'm not sure if this has been suggested already or not, but what about a thread or something that documents banning? (So people could see why a person was banned and who that person is.) There were several posters who have been banned that no one had a clue about until they read it in the 'Best Banned Poster' award thread. It wouldn't have to be a discussion thread, it could just be a 'locked' sticky. That way there could be no way for other posters to bash those who have been banned. It's just a thought.

This isn't school.
Why did I suddenly see SuBe standing over Kenshin after having knocked him down with a chair when I read this?

From some of the posts in here and attitudes sometimes this place is very high school. Besides it was just an example and it's still really no one's business but the people directly involved. This isn't school.
Hahaha that's great. Why did I suddenly see SuBe standing over Kenshin after having knocked him down with a chair when I read this?

Seriously. No.
Thor, in case the points made in the posts between yours and mine didn't prove enough, this would be abused. Not to mention, if this were the case, then what's the point of the staff, if whatever we do isn't based on the rules that were previously set up, but rather by popular vote and some flawed, twisted popularity contest that relies on the pseudo-charisma of someone online, or based from someone who has the patience to just register a zillion usernames? Rules are here for a reason.
Chaseter, you've been here since January 2006, so I have to assume that your posting this was a joke. I mean, even IF this were to go to vote, it'd be voted down, and no, despite what I'm sure you're going to be thinking, it has nothing to do with giving you a ladle to stir the pot. Well, it does, but that's not all. If that stuff was meant for you to see anyway, don't you think that someone would have made it public in the first place? The reason this stuff is made private, aside from protecting EVERYONE's privacy [say, for instance, a banned user pleading his case to the staff, and it goes up for discussion in the staff section for review], is so that it's only going under review for the staff. Just like when your parents shoo'd you away to go outside while they and their friends had "adult time", the staff forum is the same principle.

No they talk about real issues there, but just like anyone else they are prone to the human need to rip into a poster they don't particularly like without fear of anyone else seeing it.That's really just because the staff forum is where you guys go to secretly bash people... right?![]()
Are you asking me out on a dateI was really hoping, because, whether I like you or not [and to be honest, I haven't had enough personal interaction with you to decide one way or another, but generally I like people until given a reason to dislike them], I do know enough to know that you aren't that dense--you're smarter than you let on.
