I think Lost needs its own subforum in the tv series:o The thread is at over 600 pages and this show isn't going away any time soon.

Aren't they supposed to end Lost next season?

It's not nearly as populated as was a few years ago.

I haven't been a part of this forum before this year but I would say having upwards of 60 people in Community at any one time is still popular.

No:huh: But I did ask as to why a mod's game is allowed to be stickied while a user's isn't. But 4 stickies is too much:o

Idol is reliant upon viewer participation while Hype Mole isn't.

Plus... Matt is an attention hoor.

Sure, why not. But that's not my point. My point is it isn't as popular as it once was. Granted, in some circumstances, that really wouldn't matter. But in this case, I think it does.

As I said, from 2004 to maybe 2007, you come come into Community at any time and strike up a conversation or debate immediately in several threads at once. It's not like that anymore since I've come back. Now it's much more sporadic, and you're lucky if there's one thread on a Saturday night that's actually being posted in. And that's not good. At least, not as good as it once was, IMO.

sad but very very true

The pace at which you had to refresh the Community page to keep it up to date was ridiculous.

Now I come back every 10 min to half an hour to see what's new...

eh...

nothing much.

To each their own opinion.

When a book forum was last suggested, Mirko shot it down, then Bella pitched a music forum when it was suggested recently here, Ive spoken to Mirko about it and he will give a decision in the new year.

Seems rather pointless. All it'll be is threads about how EMO this band is, or how much Rap sucks. We live to complain, and complaining about music is far worse than complaining about movies.

i would surely hope not. i've actually got a lot of ideas in mind for at least some things i'd like to see in a Book/Music forum, and if anyone is interested, i'd be glad to explain them

A combined Books and Music forum would be very nice.

jag

If the music section gets the go ahead I'll see if I can double it like CC suggested.

sweet

it sounds like Mirko is not too keen on the idea, but would it hurt to at least give it a trial basis, like a quarter of a year. if it doesn't work or the forum isn't succesful i would not be upset if it was merged back into the community forums. i would just like to see the Book/Music Forum get a chance

and if no one else wants to moderate it, i'll help :)

It's not so much an opinion, Marx. It's more about me having a difference experience (or, rather length of experience) at the Hype than you. You really haven't given an opinion outside of you joined recently, so (rather obviously) you're happy with the status quo. Again, since you joined recently, that's a given.

You want an opinion? Here you go...

I see no point in dividing the Hype any further, unless there was a need for it. I certainly do not see a point in merging subforums either. Just because Community (presumably your favorite meeting place here on the Hype!, since you've taken issue) isn't as popular as it once was doesn't mean that every subforum should be merged back into Community for the sake of popularity. This site is not that hard to navigate. It's more orderly and not a jumbled mess. And that's a good thing. There are many other forums and sites out there for you to visit if you prefer jumbled messes. I, for one, appreciate not having to navigate my way through 10 pages of stuff I'm not interested in to find the five threads that I AM interested in.

When you type a post, there is a little box in the top right-hand corner (it says "ABC" and it has a check) that you can use to spell check. Has anyone ever used that? It says you need to download iespell at http://www.iespell.com/download.php. I was wondering if anyone has done that and whether it is worth it? I don't really need it for my posts, but it might be handy for work.

I don't like how it now thanks us for doing a Quick Reply, it defeats the purpose of a Quick Reply when it takes you on to a new page. Has this been mentioned?

Edit- Ironically, it didn't do it for this post lol
