Location: Avengers Mansion

In the fictional Marvel Comics universe, Avengers Mansion has traditionally been the base of the Avengers. The enormous, city block-sized building, currently abandoned, is located at 890 Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, New York City.

It had three above-ground floors and three basement floors. The first three floors were open to the public and had twelve rooms to house Avengers who wished to reside in the mansion, as well as Jarvis's quarters. A portion of the mansion's third floor served as a hangar for the Avengers' quinjets, their primary mode of transportation.
The three floors below ground were restricted to the public and had modified rooms for the Avengers' needs. Such rooms below ground were: Tony Stark's arsenal chamber, the Avengers gym, Hawkeye's test-shooting room, the training room (much like the X-Mansion's Danger Room), The cryogenic storage area, and the ultra-secure assembly room.

The Mansion was surrounded by a wall twelve feet high and one foot thick, as well as an array of high-tech security defenses. Nonetheless, those defenses were often breached by the supervillains faced by the Avengers.

(As per usual, the defenses are shut off. You can venture outside, if necessary; but, not off of Avenger's ground. The twelve foot high wall will be the farthest participants are allowed to reach.)

Yeah....those are two excellent characters that could have both made it through a few rounds, easily. Life sucks for Ice/Psy.
I wonder who he'll choose to keep they're both easily able to make it through many rounds. IMO I would take Gladiator because of all the resources he has with the SHi'ar

Attuma vs. Gorgon(Enemy of the State):

This could be a decent match-up; but, as with last season, Attuma is greatly hindered by the location. As his following bio says, he cannot survive out of water without special devices and chemicals:

Attuma possesses various superhuman abilities common to the Atlanteans. However, his strength, stamina, resistance to physical injury, and swimming speed are much higher than the majority of his race. Like most Atlanteans, Attuma can't survive out of water without the aid of mechanical devices or certain chemicals which allow Atlanteans to breathe air.
Attuma is a skilled warrior, trained in the use of many different weapons. He usually prefers a sword, but he has access to highly advanced weaponry.

Now, Gorgon's abilities are as follows:

Powers The Gorgon has a plethora of powers, amongst them super speed, super strength and the ability to survive nearly any wound. When the Gorgon removes his glasses and looks a person in the eye, he can turn them into stone. Gorgon was also a telepath with a healing factor. The Gorgon also uses magic and supernatural arts. Abilities Gorgon is well educated and is considered a genius. He also has supernatural knowledge and powers. Weapons The Gorgon often wielded a katana

From Wiki, the following statements can also be found:

The Gorgon possesses a variety of superhuman abilities as a result of genetic mutation and mystical enhancement from the Hand and HYDRA.

The exact limits of his healing powers are unknown. However, he is capable of healing from massive trauma inflicted by Wolverine's adamantium claws, bludgeoning, and falling from great heights within a matter of moments.

Aside from his physical advantages, the Gorgon possesses some level of telepathy allowing him to read the minds of others.

The Gorgon is a extraodrinary hand to hand combatant, even before his resurrection, trained in multiple forms of martial arts. He is an expert swordsman and typically prefers to use a katana during combat. Also, he typically uses his telepathic abilities to read the minds of his opponents during combat situations, enabling him to predict and counter their moves.

The Gorgon is extraordinarily intelligent and possesses advanced knowledge in multiple scientific and artistic fields.

I probably don't have to spell it out; as, it's quite obvious that Attuma is royally screwed. But, just to make sure everyone sees what I see in regards to this match, I'll lay it all out on why Attuma doesn't stand a chance in Hell of winning this battle.

First, Attuma will have no knowledge of who Gorgon is. He might be aware of the Inhuman; but, this character kept a very, very low profile, and the Atlantians, from what I've noticed, don't keep up on the various superheroes and villians to a great extent. Gorgon, on the other hand, belongs to two groups, The Hand and Hydra, both of which probably have more than enough information on Attuma and the Atlantians. From this, Gorgon will get all the information he needs about Attuma's weaknesses, including his need for special devices and chemicals in order to fight him.

Secondly, since Attuma doesn't know a thing about Gorgon, he'll be unaware that simply by removing his glasses, Gorgon can turn Attuma into stone. That simple feat is more than enough to win the battle. I really don't even need to go any farther in the debate....but, I will for argument sake.

Thirdly, Attuma will try to attack Gorgon physically with his sword. Attuma won't realize it; but, Gorgon is a master swordsman, and will be able to defend himself quite easily with his katana. Plus, Attuma won't realize that Gorgon's telepathic abilities will enable him to predict and counter all of Attuma's moves. If, for some strange reason, Attuma is able to connect with his sword and injure Gorgon, it won't do him any good. As the above bios have stated, Wolverine's claws have sliced Gorgon, and within a matter of moments, Gorgon is healed and fighting again.

Fourthly, Gorgon is extremely intelligent, possessing vast knowledge in multiple scientific fields. Whatever form of chemical or device Attuma will be using to enable him to survive out of water, Gorgon will have probably know something to counteract it. One chemical allowing him to breath out of water will have another chemical taking away the effects, simply put.

So, looking at all four points, I really cannot see a single way in which Attuma can defeat Gorgon in this battle. For the second straight season, Attuma is at a clear disadvantage. Even if he could find out information on his opponent, it's pretty hard to fight with your eyes closed.

Winner = Gorgon

OPENING COMMENTS: GOBLIN QUEEN Vs WRAITH

Powers

Here is the complete bio for Wraith:
Wraith II

wraithII.jpg
Real Name: Hector Mendoza
Affiliation: None
Previous Affiliations: X-Men (interim)
Powers & History: Hector Mendoza's power is to generate a field of invisibility. Unfortunately, when it manifested, the field turned Hector's skin transparent, leaving his muscles, organs and bones showing through. He was on his way to a doctor when a mob attacked him and he was saved by Phoenix. Jean recruited Hector into a new team of X-Men she led to Genosha to rescue Charles Xavier, who had been kidnapped by Magneto. On the way to Gebosha, Jean gave Hector a telepathic crash course in using his powers and being an X-Man. During the eventual fight with Magneto, Hector was unable to do much until Magneto grabbed him. Then he was able to transfer his invisibility field to Magneto, causing him sufficient disorientation for the others to complete the rescue of Xavier. However, even given his pivotal role in this conflict, Hector, like his other interim teammates, opted not to stay with the X-Men afterwards.

Here are some of Maddie's powers:
Since Madelyne was cloned from Jean Grey's DNA, she was essentially another version of Jean, and possessed Jean's telekinetic and telepathic abilities. As Goblin Queen, her powers were exponentially enhanced by demonic magic to the point where her telepathy could be used to release the dark side of a person's personality, and make them evil, and her telekinesis could even warp reality in a localized area. After her resurrection by X-Man (Nate Grey), Madelyne's telepathy was reduced to a much lower level, limiting her to reading minds and communicating by broadcasting her thoughts. Her telekinetic abilities were still enormous: such that Madelyne could move, lift and manipulate fairly large objects, channel her telekinetic powers to fire powerful mental force blasts, focus her psionic energy into a protective shield, and levitate herself in order to fly at fairly high speeds. She also developed powers that Jean never possessed. Madelyne was able to teleport over long distances by psychokinetically shunting herself in and out of the astral plane (she was also shown to be able to carry additional weight, such as another person, when she teleported, but her limits were never fully tested). Madelyne also discovered that she was able to siphon the psychic energies from other psionic mutants. She could then use the stolen psychic energy to boost her own powers or channel the energy into someone else (usually Nate Grey) to temporarily increase their psionic abilities.
Telepathy
Telekinesis
Teleportation
Psychic energy absorption
Various Black Magic and mystical powers.
Conclusion

Location & prep time make no real difference here. Wraith has no available method of hurting Goblin Queen who is:
a) uber
b) hot
c) an evil, unrestrained version of Jean Grey with enhanced and additional powers.

The fight will last seconds.

WINNER = GOBLIN QUEEN

Wow Airwalker vs Gladiator that's a toughy.
Yeah :csad:

Yeah....those are two excellent characters that could have both made it through a few rounds, easily. Life sucks for Ice/Psy.
Yeah :csad:

I have an idea who I want but I don't want to influence votes. I'll consider the opinions and they may change my final decision.

If two of my chumps had been matched up rather than two of my A-list my stats would be a hell of a lot better, +2wins, -2defeats :csad::csad::csad::cmad:

Basilisk Vs. The Purple Man

you're joking right?

okay, the Purple-Man will have no foreknowledge, and no prep-time. big-deal. he sees him and immediately says "Go impale yourself on something" Basilisk does it, end of fight.

Wow, rough draw for Wraith. I think I am going to concentrate on my other two matches this week. Wraith is severly outclassed and out-powered here. Congrats Iceman/Psylocke!

Ouch. Goblin Queen.

There are ties in the Chamber matches from this weekend. Any input would be appreciated Marvel fans.

CR. :ghost:

*Gorgon - Enemy of the State

*Goblin Queen

*Purple Man

*Air-Walker - (I chose Air-Walker for the simple fact he's an android and can probably use much of what's around Avenger's Mansion as resources. It gives him a slight edge. In the end, Ice/Psy will be mainly looking at his opponent for next round, and in that regard, I think it's obvious who he has to choose.)

Next Round, we'll have much better fights: Gorgon vs. Goblin Queen and Purple Man vs. whoever.

Gorgon (Good point about the water and no counter point)
Goblin Queen (OWNED!)
Airwalker (My personal favourite of the two but it's not my call)
Purple Man (could have been countered but there's no debate)

Gorgon
Goblin Queen
Purple Man (Basilisk could do to Purple Man what Purple Man could do. But Purple likely has the experience edge)
Gladiator (can't really decide. Sort of glad I don't have to this match ;))
